...from armies that i don't know much about, but would like to play. could anyone here help me out and let me know what i could do to add to these to make some small forces? any help would be appreciated, and i'll love you forever!

cygnar

pcaine
phaley
pstryker
stormclad
6 long gunners
6 stormblades + UA
5 field mechanics
jonas murdoch

i'm thinking for the cygnar here, it's really just about adding some more 'jacks. pcaine seems to be my best choice for the given units, so what 'jacks would go best with him? i've also heard the both the gunners & blades are cygnar staples and work best for any caster. any suggestions?

menoth
pkreoss
5 cinerators
10 zealots + UA

again, more 'jacks. i've been told that kreoss and the cinerators work well together. would the zealots fit in there at al thoughl? also, what 'jacks would work best in this force?

i'm not looking for any specific point force. to be honest, i'd like some ideas that would cost the least out of pocket. any help would be great- thanks!

You've got a nice base for cygnar army, but still need to make quite a few purchases for 35 point army. pHaley and pStryker would really like to have lancer for arcing, but don't really require any additional jacks.

Stormblades with UA and stormclad form a nice module which can be used with any of the casters you have. What you need is a screening unit of some kind as blades are not that durable. Long gunners are something I have never gotten to work properly. They need to stand in place to deliver full value and the game is so much about movement that I don't seem to get them to perform.

Murdoch is the ranking officer so you need to have a unit of mercs to use him. Nyss hunters and boomhowlers are two most popular choices with him in the interwebs, even though some seem to like him with the new ogryn unit.

Some things I would add are squire, lancer (if you are not going with caine) and sword knights or precursors as melee screeners. That would give you a nice start of a collection.

Long Gunners work a lot better with pStryker and pCaine, where access to Snipe lets them stand still from a safe 18" away. Usually lets you get two turns of double tapping goodness in, and with the addition of Deadeye the evil little buggers don't tend to miss on the first CRA the model makes either (note that waterfalling helps here). They're a little tetchy, but definitely worth fiddling with (although I'd seriously recommend the full unit w/ UA, as the unit gets nastiest with 11 guns).

@metsuri

What about adding sam and her devil dogs to murdoch and using them as my screeners? I can take out any front line jacks to clear room for my troops waiting behind. I also have the talon that I could use with sam. I would also add a lancer to the group and maybe (points permitting), put in the rest of the long gunners w/ UA. I don't have my cards/ books on me at the moment, but that's something that crossed my mind as I already own all the models I stated (aside from the lancer) and that would definitely cut down on cost!

Thanks for the help so far you two~

They could work. The unit would be quite expensive with murdoch (7/ 9) for a screening unit, but with Talon they would be more of a threat than swordknights especially with assault.

This could be a suitable starting point with the figs you have:
Commander Coleman Stryker
- Lancer
- Stormclad
Captain Sam MacHorne & the Devil Dogs (Sam and 5 Grunts)
- Talon
Long Gunner Infantry (Leader and 5 Grunts)
- Long Gunner Infantry Officer & Standard
Stormblade Infantry (Leader and 5 Grunts)
- Stormblade Infantry Officer & Standard

It is in no way optimized list, but uses the figs you have to form a not too horrible army. Devil dogs run in the front doing some interference and object grabbing with stormblades lurking behind with either blur or AS on them waiting for a counter charge opportunity. Long gunners shoot from back and use covering fire if no targets are present.
