I currently play Ultramarines, my first army, and I am a little bored with them. All my friends have/play Ultramarines (Space Marines) so I see them all the time. I played in a local tournament and saw a lot more armies being used, one of which was Dark Eldar. I think they are pretty cool and am thinking of switching to them. Who else plays Dark Eldar and would that be a good move?

They're a great army that require a lot of skill and precision to work effectively. As a Space Marine player, you'll have to completely change your outlook on how to build army lists - troops are some of the best units that Dark Eldar can field, as opposed to tactical marines that generally get taken to fill the mandatory slots.
I think they're a great army with awesome models and I'd heartily recommend them, but you have to be cunning, fast and ruthless.

In order to be able to fund a new Dark Eldar army, I would have to sell my entire Space Marine army. I very tempted, but I do not want to put a mismatched DE army together. I was thinking of starting an army with two Dark Eldar Battleforces, 5 hellions and a HQ.

Just remember, Dark Eldar die a lot easier than Space Marines. You'll need to learn to evade.

Don't do this - wait till December the 3rd till the Dark Eldar Megaforce comes out for £130 (and whatever the equivalent pricing would be in dollars) and get more stuff for less money. You'll still need a HQ.
