Perhaps this was wishful reading, but somehow I got the impression that a Monolith could now use the particle whip, the gauss flux arc, the eternity gate, and move all in the same turn. Then someone pointed out that the particle whip is still ordnance and prevents me from at least firing the gauss flux arc. I'm not sure where I got the impression that I could do everything in one turn, so I'm inclined to agree with the correction. Can anyone give me some insight on this?

The wording of what can be shot with the gauss flux arc is extremely odd, as well. As in, Matt Ward should have gone to business writing school. From what I can tell, each flux arc gun can fire at any enemy unit in range and LOS from the point of the view of that individual gun (including another unit being fired at by another gun). Do I have that right?

And the eternity gate can be used once a turn, regardless of anything (except of course the vehicle being destroyed)?

Its ordance so you can fire that and nothing else .... i wonder if its a miss print as it make you wonder why they need to count as stationary when it shoots.

Ah, that must be why I thought that. So, even if it was stationary, it still would only be able to fire the ordnance and nothing else, right?

Right - page 58 BRB.

I'm looking at rules to see what is right.

Can only shoot ordnance.

Well... It can move and fire it.

Monoliths have the new 'heavy' vehicle keyword which means they always count as stationary with regards to firing weapons.

That said, however, you can certainly move it, use the eternity gate, and then fire each of the 4 flux arcs at a different target.

Particle Whip is an Ordnance weapon (Necrons Codex, page 81). Therefore if you want to shoot Particle Whip, you can't use other weapons (BRB, page 58) including Portal of exile (treated as a shooting attack (Necrons Codex, page 47)). You can still use Dimensional corridor.

So that when you move, you can still use all four gauss flux arcs.

gauss flux arcs are strength 4 so are defensive weapons and the portal doesn't even have a strength so would also possibly be defensive.

It allows the monolith to fire the turn it deep strikes (always counts as stationary while firing > counts as moving at cruising speed).

... could be but it still seems odd.

More than likely the phrasing is generalized because the new Necron codex is a 6th edition codex. It is entirely possibly that "Heavy" is going to become a new universal vehicle type (like skimmer or fast).

Sorry, my bad. Then it's more likely what WanderingFox said.

Meh while it well might be it might not, it only one codex and there's all ready been lumbering behemoth (or what ever its called) for IG. Still Supersonic and Aerial Assault have been see across more then one codex so are quite probably going to be included.

Then again PotMS is currently in what 4-5 codices for many years yet have never made it into the rule book. I would be amazed and grateful if 6th saw most rules being in the main rule book and only specialist stuff being in the codex but not surprised if it isn't.
