I know that drop pods are frowned upon, but I do think that along with the dreadnought drop pod wing of blood angels and regular marines I do think SW can make a decent drop pod list with GH hunters with a wolf guard with a combi melta being the main ingredience. In short it will be rough and dirty for both parts.
Here are two sugestions for how to use drop pods around 1750 points:

Since when have Drop Pods been frowned upon? I've never heard of it. IMHO, they're one of the best Deep Strike methods in the game--nicely modeled, only mishap if they go off the table, and they can carry Terminators. They know what their job is, and they do it well.

I use a furioso dreadnought with my drop pod (he has blood talons)
And what i do is i drop him on the first turn, to the closest infantry i can find (but as far away from anti-tank). Shoot my melta gun and heavy flamer the first turn, then blend everything on the second turn.
By doing this i took out Calgar and his honor gaurd in one turn.

I never se anyone. Everbody says that it is best to stay inside a rhino and shoot out. Do any of you have a good SW drop pod list?

I've seen some really awesome vanilla marines, I run a mostly drop pod list myself (6 dreds in drop pods due to master of the forge, 3 tac squads in drop pods)
I've never seen a SW drop pod list, but then again I only play 2 people who use space wolves and they swear by rhinos

I like putting dreads in drop pods, sometimes tactical squads if I've run out of dreads.
However, my terminators always deep strike next to my bike squad with homer (ravenwing in DA codex).
I like drop pods, especially the comedy value when the BS2 storm bolter actually kills something.

Not the first time I've done this, bloody foot in mouth disease, sorry about that and I'm sorry that your BS is so bad on your drop pods haven't they updated it in a FAQ? They're much less nasty than they were in 4th edition. The combination of being forced to drop some of them on turn 1 and the enemy being able to Reserve against you and steal your alpha-strike, hurts a good bit. It sucks to pay 35pts for the privilege of making yourself an easy target. Particularly when you're delivering a dreadnought into easy meltagun range. Kill Points also make them more of a potential liability than they were in victory points.
That being said, podding armies can certainly still work. You just need to adjust tactics and lists. Like having some pods allocated to units which don't necessarily want to DS, so said pods can drop empty. Empty pods drop late game if you want your full pods on turn 1, or drop turn 1 if your opponent has reserved against you and you want to be able to retain your ability to respond with real units after he arrives.

I've recently fallen in love with a Tyranids Spod list. They're definitely worth it.
Easy KPs are annoying, but my spores are hardy enough for me to not really care; if they're shooting at my 3 wound, T6 40pt transports, I'm good with that. Drop pods have the lovely vehicle damage table to be consoled with, IMO.
