I play some 2v2 matches with a cron player who recently started using Imhotek's Storm ability and it hurts to say the least.

My question is, when he does would this ability cease aswell? The book seems kind of hazy on that rule
I mean both the lightning part and the night fight part too.

... This could be worded a bit better ...
What I think you are asking is when you kill Imhotek can you stop his power? No as the power happens if your army has him in it. As such even if you kill him before the game begins he would still have triggered this power as the army included him.
