My question is if you DS can you still claim an assault if you have Relentless in the same turn?

Example: DC have Relentless. If you DS a unit of DC with Jump Packs could you still assault a unit within 6" of you? Or can you only assault when you DS with Heroic Intervention?

I doubt that you could perform an assault highly, but I was wondering what you think?

No. Relentless has nothing to do with deepstriking - which has its own restriction on assaulting.

Relentless grants you the ability to charge when shooting with rapid fire and heavy weapons. Which you normaly can not.
Heroic Intervention is a exception, so you can assault with it.

Nope.

Deepstrike rules themselves forbid assaults without specific rules to override it.

Relentless cannot help you.

To be fair, someone could have taught this person wrong or simply he misunderstod the rules. So its impossible to know if you were cheated or this was a misunderstaning.
However now that YOU understand the rule correctly, inform him in a mature way. And point him to the relevant rules.

I'm sure he was cheating. Someone who plays Tournies as often as this guy should be entirely aware of the rule, and play them the same come all players.

People have been confused with rules that allow assaulting after X before... Fleet is another example. Some just seem to read these rules the wrong way around, as if the action of shooting or running suddenly removed any other restriction on assaulting.

Or if could be honest cheating, ofc.
