Dangerous Duet

The origins of the vicious Chaos Warband known as the Hell-Slayers can be indirectly retraced back to the time of the Great Crusade. It is during this period of glorious stride that the captain Alexandrus of the World Eaters, like many of his brothers and their Primarch, Angron, were corrupted by the promises of Chaos, and more precisely of Khorne, the Blood God. As the Legion fell deeper and deeper in the twisted madness of Chaos, the Horus Heresy began. Participating at the Massacre of Istavaan IV and also at the battle of Holy Terra, the being once known as Alexandrus, know renamed Azmodar, killed legions of his former kind, earning himself, like the rest of the World Eaters, the favours of Khorne. Like the others after the Horus Heresy, he retreated back to the Eye of Terror, and it was said he also participed to the First War of Armageddon and to the dreadful battle of Skalathrax, where the Legion was divided following the rampage of Khârn the Betrayer. As such, until this point, Azmodar wasn't different from the other World Eaters. However, after these events, things changed for him.

The Apostle of Sins
After the fateful battle of Skalathrax, Azmodar and some of his brothers decided to go their way, raiding and pillaging anything that came by. At an unknow period, they then encountered the chaos warband known as the Apostle of Sins while attacking a small Imperial outpost. This warband, made from the remnants of other Legions and fallen Chapters, was under the control of the Sorceror Lord Xanaraz. The Sorceror Lord, who was there to collect a xenos artifact, gave Azmodar and his men the same choice he gave to any other Chaos Space Marine he encountered : Swore Fealty or be eliminated. Azmodar and his kind of course refused, for no true follower of Khorne and former World Eater would accept to be under the rule of a Sorceror. They immediatly attacked the force of Xanaraz, and the battle was fierce. However, all of Azmodar men were killed by the more numerous force of the Sorceror. Xanarz then ordered that Azmodar be taken as a prisonner, and decided to give him again the same proposition, hoping the former World Eater could lead his force with the same ferocity he and his men battle him with. Even thought Azmodar had only disdain for the Sorceror, he accepted for the moment, hoping to have his chance later to take revenge. Yet, Khorne didn't appreciated such a dishonourable attitude, and from the depts of the Immaterium, he lashed psychikely at Azmodar, horribly burning his flesh and striking him with unending pain. In the head of the former World Bearer was spoken the following words :

Pain until honor is repaid in Blood for the Blood God

Azmodar then understood that the Blood God was furious at him, but that it seemed that Khorne, in a sadistic way, gave him a second chance to regain his honor. He knew then he would have to one day challenge the Sorceror in combat, but until the day he could do so, he will have to live with the pain of his shame.

I have the same response as Ogryn. Its good, but not long enough. Write more!

Also, I have to say it fits into the background pretty well. Its grimdark, violent, unique and it doesn't contradict any prior fluff.
