I have 20 tactical marines, 10 scouts, an emperor's champion, predator, whirlwind, 10 assault marines, 5 devastators, and 5 terminators. I have read the codex through, and I'd like to have advice on what difference in tactics I should use between the two armies. I know black templars focus more on combat, and the "righteous zeal" special rule is very useful for closing the board; I'm wondering if I should take large crusader squads, lots of sword brethren, or smaller squads in transports.
Any battle experiences against armies will be taken to heart, and I apologize in advance if my request for advice was too vague.

I think your questioning is very specific but you should find the one or two websites that cover all the basics.

The truth, at least from my perspective of having fought against and fought as a few times, is BT can not really do cc. They really ought to be able to according to how the codex is written and the fluff, but they can not.

Going through the whole codex the only unit I would trust in cc would be furious charge termies.

However all is not lost. The troops make good MSU army, I always feel 5 men in a lasback is the best option. Furthermore the support can shoot like anything. You cheap typhoons, preds, vindis-not my first choice, though people love 'em, tank hunter double assault cannon or double CML 5 man termy squads.

Teach Tau how to shoot. Good luck .
