Who do you think would annihilate the other and why?

The real winner is the Imperium.

But answering your question, BL would win. Why? Plot says so

Abaddon would walk over them.

The Black Legion has got considerably more individual warbands under it's control, because of Abbadon's influence (personally, I would've lost faith in him by this point ). Therefore, although it saddens me to say it, they probably have the numbers to demolish the Word Bearers quite comfortably.

Hmmm I would say Black Legion due to numbers. But having said that Lorgar might win against Abaddon 1V1.

I'd have to say Black Legion since they're the poster boys for chaos

It would barely be a fight, Black legion would walk over the Word bearers no problem.........and Word bearers are my favorite Chaos legion...

I hardly think it would be easy fight for BL. It would be a gruesome, attrition war where even the victor would suffer a lot. But as I´posted earlier, BL's Plot Armour is thicker than WB's

I still think Black Legion would roflstomp the Word Bearers into oblivion, even without their "plot armor" ........the same plot armor that helped them take Cadia I assume

But aren't the WB more in touch with Chaos than the BL? Would'nt they just end up summoning massives hordes of Daemons to counter-balance the numbers of the BL?

The Chaos gods are not allies, the Chaos Marines are just puppets to them, sure the Word Bearers are closest, but that doesnt matter at all.

Would you keep you favourite puppet or the one that is more worth?

^My opinion too.

In the Word Bearers trilogy, the WB admit that the BL is far, far bigger. Abaddon and his boys are the poster boys of Chaos.

I think there are two Legions that would be a harder fight: IW and DG. And perhaps AL (who knows?)

The BL. It wouldn't be as easy as some suggest, as I think Lorgar might get a bit annoyed at you for killing his lads, but in the end the BL's numbers would win. (That hurt me to say that!)

On moon miranda.

Abaddon can call on a far larger number of troops, auxiliaries, and is the chosen mortal champion of the Chaos gods, with the favor of each of the great 4. The Word Bearers are large, but the BL is bigger and a greater variety of tools with which to engage their foes, including troops from other Legions. As for Daemon reinforcements, the Chaos Gods are fickle indeed, and lets be honest, it's not like the BL doesn't have its own sources of Daemonic power and reinforcement. The WB just employ daemons more often, not that they can summon them in greater number or more assuredly.

There's a reason that the Black Legion is at the forefront of the great Black Crusades and not the Word Bearers.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Exactly. The BL have the numbers and resources. The numbers are in their favour.

Black Legion, unfortunately. Despite what some suggest it would be a battle that would likely cause irreparable harm to Abaddon's prospects. Whilst the Black Legion are more numerous, a large number of their forces are erratic and unreliable warbands. The Word Bearers aren't exactly singular of purpose either, but at least they have a single ruling body that each force obeys. That and their numbers, plus the possibility of a Primarch joining the battle would make it a battle not worth fighting.

I'm not sure why they would fight, but pyrrhic victory for the Black Legion.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it.

Black Legion are more numerous and have stuff at their disposal like Titan Legions, a vast army of Heretics/Mutants/Cultists, and warbands they've absorbed. BL is the only CSM Legion which has Noise/Plague Marines within its official ranks at the same time I believe.

The Word Bearers, despite being more religious, also couldn't count on the Chaos Gods to be on their side. Abaddon has made far too many daemonic pacts.
