Ok this is my first Templar list and i could use some help . Im very new to the hobby.... like i haven't ever played a game new. I'm not really trying to make this list super competitive and from what everyone at my local store is telling me if i did i should of gone with someone other than templar, but what can i say, I like the fluff. I want to go somewhat Black Tide on this list just because it sounds fun to play so here's the list.

HQ
-Emperor's Champion w/ accept any challenge = 140 points
-Master of sanctity w/ Bolt Pistol = 111
-Marshal w/ Power Weapon and Bolt Pistol = 96

Troops
-Crusader Squad 1 (10 initiate, 8 Neo) w/ CCW and Bolt Pistols, Power fist and Flamer = 261
-Crusader Squad 2 (10 initiate, 8 Neo) w/ CCW and Bolt Pistols, Power weapon and Flamer = 256
-Crusader Squad 3 (10 initiate, 8 Neo) w/ CCW and Bolt Pistols, Power weapon and melta = 260

Heavy Support
-Pred Destructor w/ las sponsons and extra armor = 130
-Pred Destructor w/ las sponsons and extra armor = 130
-Pred Destructor w/ Heavy Bolter sponsons and extra armor= 115

TOTAL = 1499

The idea is to push froward in a column with preds leading the way and popping any tanks or transports followed by my crusaders in close proximity to one another with HQs attached to each squad. A crusader squad breaks off for a objective if thats the game but in Kill Points they just stay together and fight a one 57 man unit, smashing face as one if you will.

Will this be competitive at all? Is there enough AP?........ i'm new

Well, I would say you need more anti-tank and mobility. Here's what I can think of:

Predators work best if they don't move. So drop extra-armor, it's costy and won't help them that much. If I am correct, you could then drop the last pred and replace it with two Land Speeder Typhoon (be sure to read the BT FAQ) - this adds 4 missiles to your list, either frag or krak, and gives you a little bit more mobility for end game contesting (if the speeders survive that long).

With the amount of attack your guys can stack, I don't think flamers are that needed - switch them to melta. Aside from that, I can't help you much.

Yeah I was wondering if the flamers were needed at all, they were cheap so i just threw them in but if i drop both i can get one more melta. And if i drop the third tank i might have enough points to get a speeder with melta and speeder with heavy bolter..... looks like ill have to do some math when i get off work

You only need and can afford one HQ choice.

Then you are missing the -too cheap to not take- typhoons.
I dislike your troop selection. However it might be insanely brilliant. 5 men in a lasback with lascannon and plasma to be shooty. To be cc oriented people say loads in a large landraider.

Play some games. Go to your LFGS and play with whatever you can get your hands on.

Yeah while making the list I knew it wasn't the best way to use the Codex, it just sounded fun. I'm more into the Templar for modeling and painting than winning... unless they get a new Codex when 6th ed. rules come out to make the competitive like SW, BA and nilla marines. I'm working on a custom nilla marines chapter to compete.... about 3300 points built....about 500 points painted. If I only didn't have a pesky job getting in the way of my painting!!
