I did a search and didn't hit on anything. If this is spam, I appologize and ask you to please link me to where I can get the answer.

We're having a bit of a disagreement over what constitutes movement and what kind of weapon can be fired the turn after you have deployed.

OK, so you deploy from your vehicle in turn x. Your troops are within 2 inches of the hatches/etc. Turn x+1 (i.e. the next turn) you only move your troops into unit cohesion. What weapons can you fire (i.e. heavy, rapid fire, assault, etc.)?

We've looked through the rules and we haven't found any guidance for this.

Thanks in advance for the help.

To clarify the language you disembark from a transport, which counts as moving for the purposes of heavy weapons. You can therefore fire...

Rapid Fire 12" w/ 2 shots, Assault with their normal profile and no Heavy Weapons.

If you disembark from a stationary transport, you can move and assault as normal. If the transport moved, you cannot move further or assault.

Hope this helps.

Edit: you need to disembark from a vehicle in cohesion, also you are not compelled to move the turn after you disembark, even if you lost a few models and are not longer in cohesion. Instead you can just fire. If you do move, you must try to restore coherency though.

If I understand you correctly............

In the turn after I have disembark. I move the transport. I only move my troops for unit cohesion, I can only fire rapid fire weapons(12" w/ two shots) or assault weapons. I cannot fire heavy weapons under these conditions?

Have I got it correct?

Thanks.

Yes. If your unit is out of coherency, it must move to restore coherency as soon as you have the opportunity. This might include having to run in the shooting phase to restore coherency.

And any movement prevents firing heavy weapons unless the unit has the relentless USR.

You cannot disembark in a manner that has your unit out of coherency.

The turn you disembark your unit counts as moving.

The next turn you may move or remain stationary as you see fit and if you remain stationary you may fire your heavy weapons or rapid fire from more than 12" to their max range.

If you disembark before your transport moves, you unit may move normally that turn(and you might as well since you already count as moving for shooting); you may then move your transport normally up to cruising speed(12").

If you disembark after moving your transport, your unit counts as moving and may not move any further in the movement phase(but may run in the shooting phase and if the transport was open topped or had assault ramps, and you didn't run or have fleet; you may assault).

Pivoting the transport on the spot counts as moving for passengers.

Feel free to ask any other questions.

Some may cause multi-page arguments but most will get answered quickly.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I am not disagreeing with you, but where is this in the rules, I can not find it.

Brb, page 67, under Disembarking, second sentence.

Thank you, I read that section three times and somehow still missed it.
