Hey thought this might be the right forum to post for deathwatch I'm DM'ing a new campaign and would like some C&C on a story I developed, this story is taken from multiple Codex's and 40k novels and does not follow a specific timeline or sector of the 40k galaxy the NP races I'm including are the Tyranids, Moridan Iron Guard, and the Iyaden Eldar. The PC's have not been established yet but the NPC's that are included in the party is a Deathwatch Chaplain,Dreadnought and Inquisitor. Please be polite when replying but if you feel something is out of place or is completely screwed up and needs to be fixed please comment.

also its not completely done although I do have an ending for the story, anyone that is well versed in Deathwatch please message me or add me on IM I'd like to discuss some things with an experienced Deathwatch DM.

Deathwatch Campaign

Deathwatch PC’s start aboard a small strike cruiser the crew of the cruiser is as follows 10,000 crew mostly chapter serfs, servitors, imperial navy pilots/arms men/mechanics. The cruiser was sent to the Halathel sector to investigate a large xeno threat when it received a distress signal from the nearby planet of Halathel VI. The distress signal is coming from the Colonel of the 2nd Regiment Mordian Iron Guard, the message states the planet is being overrun by a breakaway fraction of the Hive Fleet Behemoth . The Mordians are currently holding their own against the tyranids, but are taking heavy casualties, the imperial captain of your vessel relays that to the inquisitor of your group stating that the messages was voxed and all pyskers and astropaths on the planet of Halathel VI succumbed to warp poisoning in the wake of the tyranid attack. The planet of Halathel VI is encased in an asteroid field you notice a large part of the asteroid field in clumped together in what looks like a spectacular floating city but on the other end a massive tyranid bioform clinging on to it the city if devoid of all life( any psykers in your party get the sense that there is still life in the city but none can be seen from your vessel). The Mordians State "we have valuable cargo, but we can't defend it much longer. We need someone to take it from us before it's lost."

The party must now choose whether to go down to the planet and help the Mordians (secondary objective) or to investigate the floating city (primary objective).

The NPC’s in the deathwatch are as follows
Venerable Brother Priscus of the Ultramarines (Assault Cannon,Dreadnought Close Combat weapon underslung Heavy Flamer)
Chaplain Tu’ahn of the Salamanders ( Crozius Arcanum, Skull Helm, Rosarius, Combi Flamer)
Inquisitor Drogan Party Leader (?)

stating that the message is electronic

Electronic isn't really a word that gets used in 40k. In this case, it would be put as "a vox transmission".

The mordians report that they have extremely crucial cargo at their outpost and will give it over in return for assistance from the Deathwatch.

Sounds a bit odd put like that. While your players might be "kick in the door and find the loot", Space Marines aren't.

I'd suggest it's more "we have valuable cargo, but we can't defend it much longer. We need someone to take it from us before it's lost." Put like that, it doesn't sound like the Mordians are bribing the Space Marines for help.
Obviously, of course, it's not going to be possible to extract the cargo until the location has been secured, so the players can't just turn up and go "Hi, we're here to take your cargo. Nah, you can deal with that Hive Tyrant yourself.".

Inquisitor Drogan

Is this meant to be the same one from the Space Marine game, because - and trying to put this in a way without spoilers - I would suggest you actually complete the story before deciding whether or not you want to include him.

Thank you for the comments It makes perfect sense to change those things, and also the Inquisitor name is purely just a name for an NPC

I'd also recommend changing that name for the inquisitor since it doesn't mean anything in particular to you. It'd be like naming the dreadnought Marneus Calgar.. it just needlessly distracts attention from the story for anyone who has played the shooter.
