A Nightscythe carrying Deathmarks deepstrikes onto the playing field and mishaps, rolling a 1.
Is the Deathmark unit sent back into reserve via the Transport rules of the Scythe?
Fluffwise yes, but do the rules hold up? The don't seem to actually say anything about it.

No. Because the vehicle has not been destroyed.
DS == Cruising Speed. Immobilised, not destroyed.

Mishap on the Deepstrike chart, not terrain.

Gah, saw "1" and ought failed dangerous, as the result on the table is {1,2} not just 1
Yes, they are sent into reserves. At no point are the unit ever "on' the scythe - they enter play when disembarking by dropping through a portal.
The fact they are deathmarks has nothing to do with it: ANY unit that is embarked on the scythe is treated the same way

Oh yeah that's a bit of a misnomer, I was just thinking Deathmarks as that would seem the most practical way to deploy them and avoid the blast clump while firing on the same turn.

Off topic, but can I place two Night Scythes on the table for Dawn of War setup, since the 'troops' are not onboard?
It's a silly question, but I'd like to know.
Thanks
