Greetings Dakkanauts,
My question is:
Do Dreadnoughts get an assault after deep striking via Drop Pod, or do they count as any other deepstriking unit?
I ask this after someone deepstriked a DC Dreadnought next to my scouts and tore them apart as soon as it arrived. I believe this is illegal, but what do you think?

They are exactly the same as any other Deepstriking unit.
The ONLY exception is the Lucius pattern drop pod from FW, which a) he needs to mention and b) is NOT available for Blood Angels, as of the most recent rules in IA Apoc 2nd edition.

Under the drop pod rules it clearly states that you CANNONT assault out of the drop pod. Unless it specifically says it can charge then it can as said above about the lucius pattern which blood angels cant get so... He's wrong (your opponent i mean)

Unless you are using the FW IA2 update(free on FW's site), the Lucius pattern Drop pod, it specifically allows assault after disembarkation(and even remarks that this differs from all other Drop pods). Derp! somehow glossed over Nos's post. Nos where does it say no BA? IA Apoc2 says any SM Dread that can have a drop pod, ad IA2 update specifically allows BA.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

Because those are now the OLD rules, as I specified
IA Apoc 2nd edition has the current rules, and it specifies EXACTLY what codexes can use it - and BA are NOT on the list.
They have also changed the force org selection for it, and made it slightly less reliable a method of getting into assault.

Damn new new new books!
I swear every time I turn around it is a new book I have to buy just to get the current version of some rule; especially in relation to IA books.

I spend more time on YMDC than I do sleeping and have books for armies I don't even intend to ever play, let alone actually play; I need the newest versions of all the rules
