Has anyone played with unit of 10 outhriders?
How would rate them on table?

(I only play with 5 -couldn't fit more in list - and they were only 4 diversions,and 1 round of shooting,now I wanna exend them ,maybe with bardings to be heavy shooting unit)

The main problem is that they can't move and shoot.

Now this isn't a problem if you don't look at them filling the same role that pistoliers fill, that of annoyance and redirector unit.


outriders are more of a semi-mobile unit of handgunners. they should march up into a flank position, stay still, and then open fire with intent to cause actual damage. They pack alot of firepower for their number.

5 outriders have 15 shots, hitting on 4s at close range, 5s at long. so you have about 5 hits per turn at long range.

A unit of Handgunners putting out the same damage would cost you 120 points as opposed to the outrider's 105 points.



Outriders are NOT fast cavelry as far as tactics are concerned, they are mobile ranged infantry and should be treated as such.
