In the BRB, on the page that describes various CC weapons, it says that gun butts count as a normal CC weapon. If a Marine was equipped with a boltgun and bolt pistol, wouldn't they have two 'normal weapons' which grants an extra attack in CC?

Unless specified, all guns are 2-handed ccw, and don't get a bonus for 2 CCW.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Generally, the only guns that count for extra close combat weapons are Pistols. There are exceptions, I think GK have wrist-mounted stormbolters that count in combat or something, but these are always clearly specified.

This is close to the correct answer.

Hellwolf, if you look at fighting with 2 single-handed weapons it specifies that rifle butts are 2 handed weapons.

Pistols are the only ranged weapons that are always single handed ccws(Ork Burnas can be as well, but only situationally).

Zed: that was part of the Daemonhunters codex, in the Grey knight codex the grey knights have forgotten how to punch with their Stormbolter arms. So your first sentence is correct, your second only used to be(there is absolutely no true grit any more).

Actually Happyjew is correct. The main rulebook FAQ clarifies what does and does not count as a single-handed weapon in regards to the bonus +1 attack for having two single-handed weapons. It states that all ranged weapons except pistols are two-handed unless noted otherwise. Likewise it states all close combat weapons are single-handed unless noted otherwise.

No, no it does not.

It never tells you what is not a single-handed CCW.

It never tells you non-pistols are never single-handed CCWS

It tells you what is:
BRB FAQ wrote:Q: What weapons count as single-handed weapons for
the purposes of gaining additional attacks in close
combat? (p37)
A: All pistols, close combat weapons and any weapons
that are specifically stated as single-handed weapons in
their rules.

If a gun had rules that stated it was single-handed and a type that was rapid-fire, Assault, or heavy; it would still be a single handed CCW; Necron Rods of covenant are an excellent example of this; they are both power weapons(already defined as single-handed CCWs), and are Assault 1 weapons(but not pistols).

But yeah; hapyjew was more correct than I had given him credit for(apologies happyjew).
