Well I decided I had a lot of extra stuff lying around, so instead of postinf up almost 16 bucks for a chapter master why not make one. So today I got an idea, I love the Space Wolves and the attitude with showing off the armour, so I took some extra Tyranid carapace pieces and decided to dress up the armour some. I made up some fluff if anyone wants to know why he is wearing the Tyranid pieces as armour ask, and I'll fill you in. Well on with the pictures. Also leave me feedback I know molding lines will be one I'm not out for professional here just very good for table play. Oh and the red dot on the rear carapace isn't there I fixed it and the purity seal on the shoulder has been washed forgot it and noticed it when I took the picture.

Looks good. So why is he wearing nid pieces?

Well like the space wolves they like to show off. So some fluff he was in a great war against the tyranids, to secure a home planet for his chapter. So he put eveything into destroying the nids, and after he destroyed the hive leader he took pieces of his carapace to remind him and his battle brothers of the sacrafices taken to get their planet.

I do like the use of 'Nid carapace as trophies and armour, but I feel that the one on his knee looks a bit off. I can imagine it being quite a hinderance to mobility. Same could be said of the one on his pack, but in terms of pure aesthetics it looks good. The best use of carapace you've done is the shoulder pad. I didn't even realise at first. Good job though, he looks good!

The one on his knee he uses in close combat I can't use it on the table top, but it would work a swift knee to the gut could do some damage.

I like the color and the highlights, solid paint job, and the story behind the trophy is good. You're right about the mold lines, you really should be careful, specially with HQ or Character pieces.
Now for some, hopefully, constructive criticism. Although he looks good, aside from mold lines, he looks like an ordinary Sergeant. He needs something to make him stand out as a Company Captain/Chapter Master.
Some gold on his armor would make him stand out from the regular troops. You could easily paint the chest straps gold, or at the very least the center buckle. You could even paint the gun and axe gold instead of silver.
The tabard/loin cloth is a little bit too dark and gets lost in the dark armor color. Go for a lighter color.
I think you may have gone a little overboard with the 'nid trophies. I would get rid of the one on his back pack and instead add some gold to it. Something like this.

Since he's your Chapter Master give him a nice, decked out 40mm Terminator base. The base he has now looks too simple for a Chap Mast. Something dynamic and a little less flat. Try cork or wood chips to give him some height.
His pose right now is very generic and static. Turn his head so it looks like he's aiming down the barrel of his plasma pistol and see if you can get a pair of Assault Marine running legs to give him an action pose.
Last, see if you can get your hands on a unique SM helmet. BA Death Company has a nice one with a wreath. Maybe some would be willing to give it to you or trade with you.

Thanks for the advice I'll get some gold tomorrow and add to him. I used the small base because that is what the rule book says for a couple of the other chapter masters. I think I have some more pieces I could add with some gold to spruce him up some more.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Well I gave it more thought and found a helmet with some stuff on it, and my whole chapter is based on not being flashy. No one next chapter member is not better than the other they work as a team. So that being said the chapter master doesnt want to make himself feel like royalty. He wants his chapter to fight alongside of him in every campaign, and he doesn't want to stand out to much. So I'm leaving him be I did add his helmet at his feet though, and heres a picture to go along with this post.

I know I need to drill out the barrel of the gun also that will come very shortly. I have a lot of guys to do it to.

Ok so I guess I decided to add some gold and change up some of the tyranid parts up. I changed the one on the knee, and took the one off of the pack and put another piece just under the pack.

I think so too the gold just needs a good wash on the weapon, and I think it will finish it off.
