So this is my 2500 list without taking the book. Mainstays(things that aren't going away because I own them and have them built) are the spearmen and PG.

Things that can be removed(don't own or don't really care about their place in the list) are the chariots and archers.

Things I own that I can readily add are 10 Swordmasters and 5 Reavers, 1 more mage.

Things I wouldn't mind buying are 20 White Lions or some more Swordmasters.

I'm also flexible on the character builds, Caradryan stays to protect the lv4 in the PG unit. BSB in the 24 man Spearman unit, Prince in the other.

What lores are you taking on your units?

Annullian crystal on your am

Move the dispell scroll to your prince, being that he is taking lore of death?

175 points for Caradryan could be spent on anti wargear to address issues your facing. It could also up your body count for White lions if you wanted and add in some gear.

I personally like archers as they address our issue with warmachines. If you bring a nuff of them, you can put the three wounds a turn on them. That will change the mind of the other player on who is going to target.

I myself have found the bsb with the banner of sorcery to be a great build. One he sits around directing traffic and keeping your army in line. Two he keeps putting d3 dice on the table for you. Once your pit starts taking damage, its just a matter of time before that unit is killed off and or you have lost the banner. If anything put a banner on the unit to assist the army.

Over all I would say replace white lions for your chariots. As well drop some of your core of spears for more archers. I myself run my AM with forlith robe in my white lion unit. Once he is in range, I can then shadow him and or move him around as needed.

A couple of small observations.

One, I think the prince build is solid, though i would seriously recommend making better use of the AM's arcane item slot. Either the seerstaff, the anulian crystal, or even the Book of Ashur ( +6 to dispel generally makes other players uneasy.)

I'd also suggest maybe switching your armor set-up around so that the BSB gets the armor of caledor. Once that's done, he has no need for a shield, and can then take a GW. Those extra two points of strength can swing to one or two extra points of res, and can make the difference in a challenge.

As for your specials, you seem to be a little light on bodies here. I might drop both chariots, and possible the DPs, to get something with a little more hitting power. You've got a great anvil unit in the PG, and an alright one in those units of spear men ( which you also might consider combining, they'll be Streadfast against most other elite armies for a good long time), but you have sub-par hammer units to follow up with. The choice between sword masters and white lions depends Heavily on your local meta. If you face mostly hordes of t3 stuff with not much shooting, SMs are the way to go. If you face a lot of T4 and above or shooting, White Lions are a better bet.

Those are mostly based on my own experiences, YMMV. Hope that helps.

Lv4, I would give him silver wand, Forlaiths Robe's, and a ward save.

I would drop Caradryan and I would then get a Lv2 with a Dispel Scroll,

Personally I preffer Light over Life, but I tend to play very aggressive and with a Calvary Bus. Life just seems too defensive for my style of play.

BSB, drop the magical banner, get Armor of Caledor and Dawnstone or the 5+ Ward, then just give him a GW.

Core, I like the Spear elves, but with just 10 archers, you will not make an impact in the shooting phase. I would just get more Spear elves.

Specials, you need more choppiness, drop the chariots, get White Lions AND Sword Masters. For WL's I would go with a unit of 14-21 in a frontage of 7 with FC and possibly BotEF. SM's I would do one or two units of 7 with a Blade Master.
