So...assuming you have seen them (they are here, btw http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/armySubUnitCats.jsp?catId=cat450002a&rootCatGameStyle=lotr ), does anyone use any of these in their games? I have the metal Nine (now they are calling the set the Nazgul), and I am tempted to get the Finecast ones because I am getting really tired of them chipping, but it's really expensive. Other than those guys, does anyone use these models? I really like the dragon, but I want to hear from someone who takes it as to whether or not it's worth plopping $71 down for it...
Thanks!

I haven't seen the Trebuchet used at all. The Avenger bow is tons better. S10 is overkill for the most part and the Avenger does more shots and does not Friendly Fire on a 1.
Iron Guard are pretty lame compared to just about anything else in the Dwarf army.
Vault Wardens are awesome, but I doubt anyone will be buying up whole companies of real ones for that cost.
The Nine look awesome and they are fun when all together like that, but most people just get(or already have) the ones they need. Although at the BS price of getting the Wraith and his horse, it might be more cost efficient to get the Nine are abroad even with the price hike is you don't use cav that much.
Yeah, the witch king..... Cool model on foot though. I wish I had grabbed it when it was only $10 for him on foot and not the horse. :(
Balista are good and I don't think it got hiked that much in price.
Dragons are awesome, but you don't get the overcosted LotR one. You get a plastic Fantasy one for 2/3 of the price and to hell with the scale difference. For Dragons Bigger=Better.

It is a good Dragon, just really expensive.
On Vaultwardens: I bet people would be snapping them up if they were like the other finecast LotR blisters(4 for $23).

Besides the answer its GW why are these so expensive? They are smaller in scale then WF/40k right?

Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

They are 25mm rather than 28mm, so noticeably smaller. I really don't get the giant price hike on some of these. The Dragon is about $14 more expensive, the Iron Guard are probably about the same, because they weren't a 4-pack before...not sure about what the others were before besides the Ringwraiths...when I bout the metal ones, I believe they were $60.

The only "reasonable" finecast pricehikes I've ever seen is the hikes on metal LotR compainies(not heroes) because the price went from $15 for 3 to $23 for 4.

Oops, yes. I forgot the 3 per box deal on previously metal Monstrous Infantry.

It's an extremely subtle and unique model for GW. If you like it, why not pick it up.
The Mordor Troll chieftan in Finecast would be superb to work with. The prices are not surprising in the least, but my game group gets a lot of play for our dollars.
