Would anyone care to share what weapons are included in the set? A friend of mine wants to pick up the set to boost his SMs and Orks, but he wants to know exactly what he's getting because he's short on special weapons.

Orks get a warboss with PK and big shooter thing, and you also get 2 big shooter in your boys

AOBR is pretty much what its advertised to be, a starter. What it DOES have are potentially prettier models because of the different marks of armor and the details thereon, trick is its a royal PITA to clean some of those models.

Orks are all sluggas except for 2 big shootas, nobz are sluggas as well (pity) and the warboss has a twin-linked shoota and a power klaw. The deffkoptas all have twin-linked rokkits, but you probably knew that.

AOBR Tacticals are great as squad fillers. Bolter dudes. Plus you get the missile and flamer guy as a bonus and a generic SGT that is different enough looking that most people don't mind TOO much if he isn't WYSIWYG with a PF.
So when you buy your Tactical Squad box don't waste the time and money making bolter dudes (AOBR just gave you the 7 minimum needed). Use the kit to make ALL the other Special Weapon guys and whatever Heavy Weapon guys you can.
The Tac-box flamer can be chopped up to create a combi-flamer (or even a combi-melta if you cut up the flamer end) for a SGT. If you want a missile heavy Dev-Squad build that guy too, otherwise trade the missile bits to a new SW player (he needs them for Long Fang Spam) in exchange for his unused melta/plasma bits. You may even get enough gucci bits to build a Chaplain/Libby from one of the Tac guys.
Note on the AOBR Dread...the pegs that hold the arms on are different sizes from the normal dreadnought kit. They are not interchangable. However the AOBR Dread makes a great baseline conversion for a Rifleman Dread using the Autocannons from the Aegis Defence Line kit.

Tell your firend to buy a blister of meltaguns its not exactly going to break the bank and honestly my friend collects SMs and the best thing he reckons he has ever bought for his marines was a few blisters of meltaguns and plasma guns (for when 6th makes plasma good again)

I hope they do make plasmas good again, my imperial guard is full of plasmas.
