I would like a good close combat unit to go with Huron Blackheart. Which is better Khorne Beserkers or Chaos Chosen with MoK and all special weapons CC options and why? I am new to Chaos and I have no idea what to pick.

Chaos Chosen are merely Chaos Marines with more shooty options and the abilty to infiltrate.

So if your going to assault, Khorne Berserkers are the better choice.

Chosen are not a particularly good HtH unit. They only have 1A base, WS4, no special assault rules other than the ability to take multiple pricey HtH upgrades on 1A models (and/or pay a bunch of extra points for an Icon, as you've noted). Chosen are great for taking up to 5 special weapons and shooting the crud out of things.

Berserkers have 2A base, 3A base on the Champion, WS5 and Furious Assault. There's no contest there as assault units go. Mathematically, the extra attack and the WS5 makes the single powerfist on the champ twice as effective as a fist on a normal veteran sergeant, and being S9 on the charge makes it better against vehicles too. On the charge that one Fist is better than TWO fists on Chosen against most targets (WS4 ones), since it gets the same number of attacks and hits more easily. When not charging it's better than THREE fists on Chosen, for the same reason.

It is too true, Berzerkers are the best CC Chaos Unit, everyone runs them cause they work. Add a rhino, a PF, and an IC and that is the end of that....

Chosen are cool for infiltrating for an ambush, flank, or to hold objectives. But they are more a shooter role.

Seriously though, zerkers are the way to go.

You want to stay out of CC with the chosen and melt stuff down.
Huron is best kept assaulting.
So, take the zerkers. Blood for the Blood God!

Chosen can't hold objectives, they are an elite choice.

He probably means contesting...not capturing.
