Funny thing is that is cheeper them some GW armies. In reading the comments it said that it cost his friend around 500 bucks.

I love it this was his way of relaxing, just painting up a period army. Awsome idea and nice to see in all it's glory.

Any of the eighty bazillion Napoleonic rule sets out there would probably work. It's also possible that the guy is just a history buff and enjoys collecting and painting historical figures. Peter Cushing liked collecting historical minis and I'm pretty sure he never gamed with them, and if it's good enough for Peter Cushing, then it's good enough for anyone.

The video poster stated that altogether the collection would have come to about $3000. He painted them over a 40 year period or something however so it's not as bad as it seems...

I wonder how much that would cost if that was all 40k stuff?

25,000 figures? Let's go with the nearest equivalent, Guard. Let's say you wanted to do the same as in the video - Napoleonic style army, 3 divisions. If you just want the same amount of models - not accounting for cavalry, cannons, paint, etc? $72,500 at retail.

At first I was going to jokingly reply "$40 000" but then I saw the video and realized 40k stuff would certainly cost more than that.

I did have a 1000 strong IG army, nowI think i cought the Historical bug.At least the wife is happpier that it is cheaper than 40k!!!Especially after i told her i wanted to build a Panzer Division!!!!But i should do what my cousin is going to do and also follow family history,He is going to recreate the 101 st airborne Easy company..Yes the Band of brothers. But he just left the Army a few years ago and spent eight years in easy company. He wants me to do the 3rd armor, that is are late Grand fathers militery unit from ww2.But wow that is one impressive colllection.
