Beginnings and Battle Conclave
I'm going to start back painting my SoB. I've had them for a few years, but taken a break from them to play other armies. I haven't played them since the White Dwarf update and don't have that update for AB yet, so no list yet.
But, I do know I'm going to run the Battle Conclave with Uriah, 6 DCA, and 3 Crusaders in a rhino. I'm probably going to use most non-GW models for this unit. I really like GW's Death Cult Assassin models, but 2 for $15 is a bit steep. Instead, I'm most likely going to use Menoth Daughters of the Flame from Warmachine. They fit the look and come 6 for $32. Way better deal than GW. For the Crusaders I'll most likely use the Paladin of the Order of the Wall. There are 2 different sculpts so with only running 3 of them no biggie. I'm still debating about using GW Uriah. It's not a bad model, but don't think he'll look right with the rest of the PP minis. One hitch I see with not using the GW model is keeping with WYSIWYG. It'll be tough to find  a better "priest / cleric" that has a shotgun. The banner is supper easy. I have plenty left over that came in the immolator kits to convert. Maybe I won't worry too much about WYSIWYG, half his wargear is missing from the GW model anyways. I'm also thinking the army is Sisters of Battle now, not Witch Hunters, so I may consider alternative Uriah and Crusader models to get an ALL female army.

Army Schemes
The next thing to figure out is the color scheme. My Daemons army was well received at my LFGS because of their uniqueness and character. I'm not going to say SoB are borrriing, but compared to Daemons they just don't seem as interesting. So, to keep them unique I want to use a scheme I haven't seen in person, but still seems appropriate for SoB (no green, blue, etc...).

Right now I'm considering the following schemes;
Scheme 1 - Gold/Desert

The gold would be a mix of NMM and MM paints, so it won't be super blingtastic, but it would still have a little shine to it.

Scheme 2 - Red Codex Cover

The 3rd Edition Witch Hunters Codex has a really cool looking sister with a scheme very similar to this. Her armor is a tad different. She had purity seals / parchments similar to Death Company instead of the tabard cloth. I think they can be used for the same effect, so I'd like to try getting some text on at least the skirt, probably not the sleeves. I'm leaning very heavily towards this scheme.

Rhino Paint Scheme Options
I'm thinking I'd go off scheme for my tanks. I want to have a conhesive force, but not everything needs to be the same three colors. I noticed some really interesting patterns in the Daemonhunters codex.

I'm really digging this look. The colors would work well with either troop scheme I go with and looks pretty easy to bring over to a rhino. I would love to paint a modified version of this, so will probably go with this, but like to keep my options open.

My other option is;

This seems more stable for a SoB army and looks great in the codex, but just doesn't have that flare and boldness that the first does. Still worth considering, though.

Next steps
I'm hoping you guys will give me some feedback and criticism about any and all of my plans. I already have 40+ sisters, 8 (I think?) Immolators/Rhinos and 2 Exorcists primed and ready to be painted. I've been itching to get back to painting after my couple week break from it. I'm hoping to get 2k painted up in the next few weeks.

I vote red for the girls and white for the vehicles. Look forward to seeing the mini's, Good luck!

I am now accepting commissions for any hobby project! I've been in the hobby since '92. Specializing in traditional brush methods, creating a gritty dark aesthetic. From single character models to entire armies. From individual terrain pieces to entire table tops. From tabletop level to masterclass level painting. From purchasing and assembly to leveling up your assembled armies paint job. If it has to do with the hobby I can do it! Hit me up and let's chat about your project!

I prefer the second Sisters scheme to the first. An all-gold army is a tough thing to pull off without looking ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, it's been done, but it really comes down to the talent of the painter. Maybe you're that guy, I dunno, but it's just my experience. Also, I've always really like that Rhino scheme from the old DH 'dex. I think if you took some of the black out of the scheme and added some gold accents, it'd fit perfectly with your Sisters.

I'm currently starting work on a Sisters force, too, and I'm considering a Dakka plog of my own. Hopefully I can get some inspiration from you. I'll be watching this one with interest!

Make sure you own an airbrush or spraygun if you go the gold route. It will make your life much easier. Personally, I think it would look striking on the battlefield. I'd do the gold with purple cloth though if anything.

I don't have an airbrush, unfortunately, but, I decided to go with the red with gold shoulder scheme and the white Daemonhunters scheme for the tanks.

In other news....
I've been researching how to make an all female battle conclave. I found a good replacement for Uriah today.

I'm going to use this as the base;

It was inspired by a user on another forum.
It's a pretty cool model to begin with, but I'm going to chop off her right-hand and replace it with a shotgun (gotta keep it WYSIWYG). For her left hand, I'm going to replace the sword with the eviscerator from the Canoness (or chain-sword, if I can't find an eviscerator). The model has enough room to slip a banner pole between her back and left-arm so she's kinda cradling it with her elbow. It sounds awkward, but should look fine.
I can't find a good shotgun, though. I'm looking for one like this;

It has that rustic style similar to Uriah's, but I can't use Uriah's because his arm and the gun are a single piece and will be a pain to clean up. I looked through GW's lines, maxmini, and microarts looking for shotguns that aren't already attached to arms, but no luck finding one with the right look. SM Scout shotguns are close match and probably the easiest I've found to clean up, but they're still a bit too high-tech looking I think.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Did a test model for the Red Scheme.
This was kinda a pain. My models were already primed black from a long time ago and that was annoying. It took about 4 layers of red to build it up. I may try starting from a red primer or white primer instead.

I can never get the lighting right for taking pictures. One day I'm going to make an actual lightbox.

I think the scheme is working well(?), kinda...I need to tone down the wash on the cloth areas and maybe do some more hightlighting on the red. I tried do some freehand on the bolter, but it's kinda crappy. If I keep it, I'm just going to buy an orange micron pen instead of using paint.
