I've seen lots of rumours about a new 40k online multiplayer in development. It's supposed to be Age if Reckoning but better like World of Warcraft. I'm guessing that the starting races will be ork, space marine, elder and chaos. Has anyone else heard this rumour?

it looks like a 3rd person mmo shooter, not warcraft imo

It's a sad state of gaming when "World of Warcraft" has become the name of the genre rather than MMO.

I guess Skyrim is an offline World of Warcraft after all.

meh 40k video games never really hit the sweet spot for me. And I heard this was free to play (I forget where). Free to play games are never that good :\

runescape is good as a f2p game, hopefully this game hasnt been scrapped yet, im looking forward to it

Yes a 40k mmo is being made, but it will not be like world of warcraft. They even say "space marines don't go on quests"

yes they dont go on quests they go on "holy crusades" just like how chaos space marines go on "dark crusades"

DM isn't going to be anything like WoW.........besides that it's a massive multiplayer online role playing game.

And from what I have heard, it's coming out either next year, or the year after....

In one interview the game devs said they will eventually make all the races in the 40k universe playable. Yes this means Tau, Necrons and Tyranids.

Not a great example.

Free to play works if they manage to have a micro transaction system then don't put game breaking stuff into it.

I am glad it's not going to be like WoW, looking around at other MMOs you'll see that it really isn't as great as the hype and can even feel rather static after a while due to the combat system.
