Hey guys and gals I rented space marine the game and beat it and here are my thoughts:

Campaign too short: I was able to beat it on normal in about 5 hours. If you bought the game this would suck as you spent 60 dollars for 5 hours. Enemies were repetitive and the final boss battle was lackluster.

Story: While ok it is nothing to write home about. Characters are bland and dont have a lot of depth

Multiplayer: not that great. Not many players and those who do are die hard players who are very good and destroy noobs like me.also team system sucks. Was stuck on a team of two against six.

Annoyance: this game was annoyingly unfairly difficult. Getting spammed by 8 tankbusta boyz while being assaulted by 20 boyz was unfair. Throw in bomb squigs and you get frustrated. With explosians taking away your shield and health while being surrounded by guys was annoying.

This are just my thoughts on the game so don't hate on me. Give me your experiences with the game. I give it a rating of: Rental If Nothing Else You Want Is Available To Rent.

But I loved this game, sure the fighting was repetitive, but multiplayer and exterminatus, those game modes really shine in space marine.....

I totally agree with OP. I bought this game for 25 quid, and sold it the week after for 10. Wish I'd bought a box of grey knights instead. Gameplay left me frustrated, weapons left me wondering if the design team had read any codices, "boss" battles were just abysmal.

Best part of the game was when I got the thunder (more like win) hammer.

Meh, the game was just that to me...a game. Was it worth the...whatever I paid for it? Probably. I'm enjoying the multi-player, and the campaign was fun (though short and not particularly challenging).

Greatest game ever? Not even close. Worst game ever? Same thing. It was/is an enjoyable waste of time. That's it, and that's all I expected.

It was fun until BF3 came out. I do think they were relatively faithful to the 40K fanbase while making a game playable to those unfamiliar with the setting. It wasn't perfect, but whatever. Doesn't have to be perfect to be fun.

T'was fun till I got max lvl on multiplayer in a week.

I'm busy trying to complete the game on hard until i get my Xbox live back.
