Hey guys, I'm originally an IG character wanting to get into playing some Black Templars. So I threw together this list to be decently competitive, but also uses many of the things that make the BTs unique.

Thanks for reading, and please, leave a couple comments =D

HQ:

-Emperor's Champion 140pts

Vow: Accept Any Challenge, No Matter the Cost

-Marshall 131pts

Powerfist
Terminator Honors
Bolt Pistol
Holy Orb of Antioch

Elites:

-Venerable Dreadnought 165 pts

Twin-linked Lascannon
Missile Launcher
Tank Hunter

-Venerable Dreadnought 165 pts

Twin-linked Lascannon
Missile Launcher
Tank Hunter

-Sword Brethren Terminator Squad 255 pts

5 Terminators
2 Assault Cannons
Tank Hunters

Troops:

3X 639 pts total

-Crusader Squad

6 Initiates, 3 Neophytes
Meltagun
Powerfist
Bolt Pistols and Chainswords

Rhino
smoke launchers

With the two Dreads and Shooty Termies for long range Tank-killing support, the 3 rhinos of crusaders will make a Bee-line to the enemy and bring the fight to them.

Thanks for your time, everyone, and remember to leave a comment!

So you told the SD boy to stay classy. I'm sure he's NEVER heard that one....

Seems like a good list .

Typhoons are too cheap to ignore and the marshal is a little too expensive.

Good luck. Take care

if you were going to stick with the marshal i would give him a teleport homer and deep strike your termies

but all in all a solid list

Ok, I'm still new to the SM side of the game, so what does a teleport homer do??

The homer allows the termies to deep strike without scatter as long as they do it within 6" of the model with it.
Very Useful

Good.

Personally I would go with a mantle LC and a SS on my marshals with this size army though I normally just go with the EC as he is almost a troops choice by himself, and without combat squads you need troops.

Ok this is so much fune a S10 LC and a S9 missile to vehicles, yes please!

Normally I do DE and IG lists but from time to time I hop in on BT lists too and this is why. Unfortunately this is illegal, you cannot have two venerable dreads in one Black Templar army. Now with that said you can take a Termi squad with TH and CML to help balance things out. The beauty is is that you can target mech or hoards with them.

Same here drop the cannons for CML.

Now balanced BT lists don't work (I've seen CC from the marshal, EC, and here but shooty from the dreads and termis) so my question is which one were you going for? So here's both critiques.

Shooty: 5 guys is all you need. Give them a Lascannon and a Plasma gun.

CC: This is about right for a CC list.

Tis good.

BT uses the Codex Astartes as toilet paper. They’re an Imp Fist successor, recruit from multiple planets, and are known to be the largest Chapter in the galaxy. They’re on a constant Crusade, keeping it real for the Emperor and not bumming around like the other guys. They hate psykers and can’t ally with them. They’re basically an entire chapter of Chaplains. CC lunatics. What every Space Marine should aspire to be, if not trapped in a Matt Ward nightmare.

The list is illegal, you can't run 2 Venerable Dreads as BT. Otherwise it looks like a well-rounded force.

My Armies:
- Death Wing and Green Wing
- Tacticals and Devastators
- Retired

ok, I had no idea about the one Venerable Dread per army, thanks! As for what direction I was going for with the list was CC troops with anti-vehicle support. I appreciate the feedback, everybody =D
