Hi, y'all. You may rememeber me from such Dakka threads as......

Enough of that gibbering nonsense. Here's the meat. I'm going to be playing in a minor club league. There's going to be six players, 500pts each and everybody plays everybody else round robin style. I've been bouncing back and forth between my Tau or Space Marine lists. I've opted for Space Marines, and because I'm kind of a fluff nut, and my marines are painted up as Salamanders, I'm trying to keep it Salamander themed even at this low points level.

The other 5 armies I'm going to face are:

1. Necrons (somebody got the new Codex)
2. Eldar (he says it's going to be Alaitoc themed)
3. Tau (The main reason I'm not playing mine, likes his Kroot)
4. Orks (I suspect these'll be a foot slogging force)
5. Tyranids (New player to area, no idea what he likes)

but I don't think it's overly practical to try and tailor lists at this points level.

Help me optimize this (frankly terrible) list Dakka brain trust

Trade heavy bolted for missile launcher. You can shoot templates at infantry or rockets at big targets. Frankly heavy bolters are weak. Also I prefer las/plastic on a razorback or an assualt cannon. Does more damage and more shots. Also I would change the thunder hammer for a power weapon and then give a power weapon to the 5 man unit for some cc punch.

Librarian is the better HQ seeing as you are not using the captain. ML would be better. lascannon and TL plasma or assault cannon fits well with the tournament, they attack various foes well and should hav e no problems with range.

Maybe go two razorbacks or go for not transports. This will save points for cheap and cheerful speeders.

30 pts would pay for jump pack, or combimelta, melta, meltabombs.
