I'm getting ready to finish some minis up, but I wasn't quite sure whether flocking should be applied before or after the minis have been given a coat of sealant. I don't want to destroy the flocking by accident, but if the sealant helps protect it as well, I'd like to know. If it helps, I plan to use Testor's dullcote.

But wait till the varnish is bonedry - nothing messes up a mini faster than flocking or applying static grass over a still wet coat of sealant...

As always, enjoy and have fun!

Depends on the flocking.

Static grass - after.
Leaf scatter and the like - before sealant.

Although the sealant I've used on my last batch was put on after the grass and makes no appreciable difference (spray can of estapol matt).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

You can use static grass with no problems before varnishing. I have done it this way for 15 years and have never seen Testor's Dullcote mess up my basing.
