This list is not particularly competitive and playing mostly for fun vs CSM Not too sure how to equip certain units and need some advice on the tactical squads as well as anything else experienced players can offer. Thanks in advance. HQ Captain 155 (goes with termies) Artificer Armour Combi Melta, Relic Blade Elites Iron Clad 180 Heavy Flamer Drop Pod Termintator Assault 460 4 Hammers 1 claw (just to get a few attacks at I4) Land Raider Crusaider Multi-melta Troops Tactical Squad 230 Flamer, ML PF, Rhino Tactical Squad 240 Melta, MM Melta bombs, combi melta Rhino Fast Attack Land Speeder 100 Typhoon MM Attack Bike 50 MM Heavy Support Predator 85 AC, HB Sponsons Total 1500 Got 10 pts to shift or add extras. Please understand it isn't a competitive build and I am looking for advice on what units work well together, upgrades and equipment. Things I have in my possession include a vindicator, assault marines (5) could proxy as sterngaurd, regular dread, Predator w/ lascannon sponsons, 2 more tactical squads, devastator squad, lots of scouts about 5 with snipers Thanks

hey, drop the melta bombs from the first squad, you've already got a PF in there and use the last 10 + the 5 and give your captain a storm shield, 3++ all the way!

The first squad only has a PF. Only the second squad has melta bombs. I like the shield on captain idea...so he losses the combi melta then which is 5pts

I would loose the Thunderfire for a dakka Predator (autocanon and heavy bolter sponsons).
I believe you can keep the combi-melta on the captain even if you take the shield (could be wrong though). Anyway, I think you'd be better with artificer armor. In my experience, it can be a lot more usefull than an additionnal ++. Loosing wound(s) to mass lasgun fire is quite frustrating! With the last 10 pts, you could give a combi-weapon to the second tactical sergeant (melta or plasma), or take dozer blades on your Rhinos.

How's that look? 7 melta in there and quite a mix to tackle anything from tanks to infantry.

Had a game with this list and did OK. It was a draw. Attack Bike didn't get to do much but just had bad luck I think.
My enemy ran 2 vindicators and they were tough to gt to without getting shot to pieces.
The drop pod dread showed up late but when it did I liked its power.
How do I make this more competitive. I am open to buying new things and removing others. Let me know

How does the drop pod not turn up in turn 1?
I would drop the iron clad for some sternguard in a rhino. Then you'll have a shield of rhinos protecting your raider. Let's say 6 men, 4 combimelta+2 heavy flamer.
Iron clad lands and flames but then it is in melta distance and can easily die before getting into cc and doing the damage. Also the drop pod comes an easy KP. Really not fond of them.

Good point, I like the the dread for visual appeal and fun power. It can dish out some pain and it did actually die to melta as CSM can have a fair bit for cheap. I may try using it vs his vindicators melta it then assault as he usually sits them in the back and moves everything forward leaving the tanks alone.
I forgot to drop the dread and didnt get it till turn 3. It was on my other table and completely fogged my mind

Did these guys square off against my Reavers?
On a serious note, Captains are cool and all (I run one), but they pale in terms of general utility to Librarians. The Psychic Hood can save you in a lot of situations against things like Lash.
I'd also recommend Sternguard over Termies in this case, but I'm also not a fan of Vanilla Marines in CC, despite the awesomeness of Hammernators.

Haha they most certainly did! Unfortunately there was no camera and I completely forgot to take notes! We got another game the 10th so Ill be sure to take photos
Your vindicators cause quite the stir up. We also did a game with my Guard and my vendettas demolished the tanks 1st turn.
I love the assault termies from a model perspective and they are beasts!
