Hey dudes, I've got a game next Tuesday (6th December) against Mercer and he wants me to make the jump from 1500 points to the 2k mark. Unfortunately, in my own mind I really only have the models available to field a semi-competitive 1500 point force. Never let it be said that I don't like a challenge though so I've had a rummage around and seen what I can chuck up against him. With all that in mind I'd love your guys feedback on my proposed list. Here goes...

HQ - Shas'el with MP, PR, TA, HWMT 97pts
- 2 Shas'vres with MP, PR, TA, HWMT 164pts

HQ - Shas'el with CIB, PR, TA, HWMT 100pts
- Shas'vre with PR, BC, TA, HWMT 78pts

Troop - 11 Kroot with 2 Kroot hounds 89pts

Troop - 6 Fire Warriors with Pulse rifles 60pts

Troop - 6 Fire Warriors with Pulse rifles 60pts

Elite - 2 XV8s with TL MP, TA 106pts

Elite - 3 XV25 Stealthsuits, one a Team Leader with HWTL, FB 102 points

Elite - 3 XV25 Stealthsuits, one a Team Leader with HWTL, FB 102 points

Fast Attack - 4 Pathfinders in Devilfish with DP 133pts

Fast Attack - 4 Pathfinders in Devilfish with DP 133pts

Fast Attack - 2 Piranhas with FB, TA, DP 150pts

Heavy Support - 3 XV88s with ASS, one a Team leader with HWTL, HWDC, 2x Shield drones, Bonding knife 285pts

Heavy Support - Hammerhead with RG, BC, DP, MT 165pts

Heavy Support - Hammerhead with RG, BC, DP, MT 165pts

Total - 1989pts by my reckoning

If I had more Crisis suits they'd be in ahead of the Stealthsuits but alas I don't.

Any advice and help greatly appreciated. Cheers guys!

Any thoughts on my list's composition? Where should I throw the remaining seven points?

Interesting. I normally don't run bodyguards because they cost more than normal suits... but I mathhammered the PPK (points per kill)... and apparently that TA you fit in there is worth the twenty points extra. Huh.

Probably a good choice against Mercer. He likes his razorspam, doesn't he?

I really dislike stealth suits. Not only do I think they are pretty bad, but they are also taking up a slot that could be used for the epic crisis suit.

Could you put target locks on those hammerheads?

Overall its a really good list.

Whichever they are, I'm not on the Reich ones, clearly.

This will be the first time I've taken bodyguards myself. I haven't done any number crunching as such, but through experience I've found that landing shots on a 4+ to be very unreliable and I'm hoping the addition of a TA on them will go a long way to remedying that. Fingers and toes crossed!

Mate, I don't think I could ask for a better tutor. He's a tough cookie and playing against him was very unforgiving at first but afterwards he always pointed out what mistakes I had made that led to my downfall. I'm making fewer mistakes with each and every game even though I'm introducing a lot of new units I've never played before so I guess his hard ass approach is paying off.

He's a cool dude. You just need to get past the firing, fighting and explosion noises he makes as he takes his turns.

I've only used them once before and I screwed up with them pretty badly. I love the models though! I'd be inclined to follow everybody's advice and ditch them if I had another couple of Crisis suits available but at the moment I don't. I'll purchase some over the next couple of weeks and swap the Stealth suits out for them. I'll probably take a unit of two Bladestorms. Because of the extra cost I'll probably leave the target locks off the Hammerheads for the time being as they'll be the things to go to free up the extra points for the suits.

I'm just trying to nail down a decent 'take on all comers' list and not build it towards any particular enemy.

Thanks for the advice The Bringer! I appreciate your help mate.
