I will be competing in a beginner tournament (I am still relatively new to the hobby) and here is the list i hope to take. I will take suggestions but don't really have the funds to buy much anything new. Here it is:

HQ: Belial w/ lightning claws
Troop:
Deathwing w/ 2x chainfist, cyclone
Deathwing w/ 2x chainfist, assault cannon
Deathwing w/ 2x lightning claws, sarge with chainfist
Heavy:
Venerable Dreadnought in DP w/ multi-melta and storm bolter (Customized Black Reach dred)
Land Raider
Devastator Squad w/ 3x missile, 1x lascannon, Sarge with chainsword, melta bombs

How many in each squad?

Its dark angels so max 5

I would drop the melta bombs on your devastators because chances are you wont get close enough to use them.

You probably only need 1 chainfist per squad at max. You have alot of anti tank as it is with your dread, LR and devs.

Im personally in the camp that assault termies are better than the standard pf/sb ones but thats ultimately up to you.

If they are the models you have then you'll be fine. The dev. squad is probably the biggest weakness but then it perfectly capable of killing things.

If you want more detailed analysis of the list and what to buy, you should ask . I asked myself that question and in brief I answered I would take Two extra CMLs in your squads and 3 preds and 2 typhoons, this'll replace the raider and dev. squad and the assault cannon.

i'd see if you could fit in 2 vindis in there, instead of the devvies, by doing so lose a chainfist from each squad and give most of your termis TH/SS. also give belial TH/SS, we won't survive with no invun, besides then he is S8
