I have these two old minis that I'm pretty sure are from the RT era, but I'm not sure what they are. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks!

EDIT: looks like the below is an original Space Marine Scout

Those are quite old, the second I do recognise as either an imperial or a marine scout. Or maybe a pirate/mercenary, or may it's Paranoia.

That's not much of a help, I'll have a look around.

Thanks, for the suggestion, Howard. It looks like we have one answer.

A quick google image search for "Rogue Trader Space Marine Scout" turned up the following link:

http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/Uncatalogued_Rogue_Trader

I never would have guessed that since it's so much bigger than a RT Space Marine.

That scout was back when the fluff about the space marines were criminals... now they are warrior monks... times they are a changin'

Wah hey! See, dug that out of my memory somewhere deep, scout was what came to mind. The first I can't identify but he has some resemblance to the various ranges of mercenaries and pirates they did.

What does his tab say?

The first one looks quite a bit like 2000ADs Rogue Trooper.

It looks like Citadel did a few Rogue Trooper models back in '85. http://www.solegends.com/citjd/index.htm

It's not though, I'm familiar with all those figures.

Well, they DID have a Rogue Trooper boardgame with 25mm plastic RTs to go along with it. Simple game but fun.
They had at least 3 Rogue models (full kit, helmetless with rifle, helmet and lazooka) maybe 4 in addition to Maj. Magnam, Venus Bluegenes, the traitor general, a nort and souther trooper, Morgen the nort sniper.

I had them all at one stage. The Nort and Souther I'd also seen in RT "40k" blisters with random other "Army" figures.

What does it say on the basing tab on the first figgie and when is the copyrightdate? It's the number on the backside of the tab.

I can't say I remember the first one, but the second is definitely a space marine scout. I have him in my collection. Way back when they were released they came in blisters of 3 and sculpt wise he does not fit in with the 5 others that were available either!
With regard to the first one it may be one of GW's Paranoia range.

I've browsed a lot of the older figures lines now and I just don't recognise it. I'm wondering if it's actually GW, the tab doesn't look very GW to me, it's very thick and the little we can see of the lettering seems atypical.

We need to see the tab!!!

The first one looks like a cadian guards man to me,

It's just the style of the helmet

#2 is a scout.

#1 might be from another miniatures range.
GW weren't the only company using slottabases (Grenadier also used them) and several sculptors worked for GW and others - Mark Copplestone included.

The tab for #1 says "Guard" and the other side says "GW ##" The number is really difficult to read. It looks like 30 or 80 or maybe 89. 89 seems to be the most practical guess to me. I'll try to take a pic soon.

I've looked through a lot of the material on Stuff of Legends and have not come up with anything for #1 yet. Still hoping someone comes across some info.

I think the first one is original imperial army. I think I used to have one. Can't find it looking through SOL tho.

Awesome! I thought I checked every catalog, but I don't remember ever seeing that page of IG. That page has some nice minis I've never seen before.

Thanks!

Lasgun 16 used to be one of the named models (colour plates from CA:FBOTA) - but all of the female models back then had names.
