I have a tornament coming up this weekend and I cannot decide, should I run Chaos Space Marines or Tyranids?
There is a grand prize and an entry fee so I am going for competativeness. I am much more experienced with Chaos and would know how to make a competative build. But the codex is so under powered and I know there will be at least one grey knight, necron, dark eldar and blood angels players there. I do not have an answer for most of these competative newer codexes. Nids on the other hand, I have only played one game with and am not very familiar with the rules. My options for what I can bring are limited in that I do not have any tervigons or ymarle stealers (my idea of a competative nid build). But the nid's codex is more well rounded than the CSM one. So, dakka, what do you think I should bring?

I would say go with what you know personally.

Nids. A little more options, at the cost of a lot less armor.

A fully Meched,Tournament tuned Venomspam Dark Eldar list is going to be very very difficult to win against, as Nids. There is no such thing as an Auto-loss, but that's about as close to it as you can get.

I'll Echo, and say go with what you feel would be best. If you are more experienced with CSM, then I would go with them.
