Hi everyone, I'm a huge 40k fan, and have been into the hobby for about 17 years now, mainly collecting and painting with only a few games under my belt, but one thing i've noticed in my years, is that people so often are quick to tell people when someone or some particular company has done something wrong by them! what i don't see often, is people just letting others know when they've had a good experience! I know it does happen and i'd like to see it more often so I'm going to start this to extol a company in australia who I have had quite a few dealings with now and i'm always 100% happy!
So...
Well done http://www.thecombatcompany.com.au/ yep, the combat company! I stumbled across them one day through a friend and haven't looked back since, Russel and his team are A-1 the product range across many gaming systems is fantastic and the website is very easy to navigate, the out of stock notification which emails you when it goes back on the stock list is invaluable to me, not to mention the prices are excellent (considering what we pay at GW Aus retail) every order I have made has been shipped lightning fast and my last order I made was early on a monday morning and the express post package was on my door step at 8:20am the next day! i've thought about buying miniature for longer than that!
As far as customer service goes, again, he gets full marks! my first order consisted of some Amera plastics terrain, and not sure how to best build them and paint them I rang him off his business card, not only did he take the time to answer straight away but very happily gave me some great pointers for cutting and assembling those buildings which i still use today, and as far as email responses go, he's again right on the money, they always respond to my enquiries and questions within a day or two at the most and even helped me find products that they didn't stock!.
It makes me quite the happy gamer, when I know i have such a reliabe and courteous business out there who is always happy to answer any questions and deliver the best service i've seen anywhere else, I shall be singing their praises whenever possible as i would like others (in Australia at least) to enjoy the hassle free buying that i have encountered over the last couple of years, and i will be a loyal customer for a long while yet!
So thank you The Combat Company! you have made my hobby just that bit richer and i always look forward to buying from you as i know everything will be great
If anyone else has had similar great experiences then lets hear them and put some good Karma out there!
Sincerely
Nerdfest09 (Damian)

I've used them quite a few times and have had pretty damn good results all but once (but that was down to the global surge in WM popularity that meant EVERY dealer in WM was down stock).
I did get the other half of my order eventually - but like I said, all of the vendors were o/s on WM at that point (well, except for the two that used Paypal or direct debit. I won't use paypal and for DD I need to go down to the branch and fill in paperwork because I don't have e-banking enabled) so it wouldn't have made any difference had I gone elsewhere.

Thanks for the mini review
Ive yet to buy anything online for GW products since the embargo, but I kept hearing good things about these guys, and have browsed their site a fair bit. I am quite impressed, and the next time I need to make a purchase I will definitely buy from these guys first.
Btw OP, you should send your post as an email to the Combat Company, Im sure they'll appreciate the sentiment

I’ve shopped many times at the Combat Company. Their prices, product range, bits service and delivery times are excellent. CC are usually my first stop for wargamming stuff before checking out other stores.

I was actually surprised by the prices. While I realize its a 'normal' 25% off, seeing a Trygon for $71 rather than $96 is tempting.

Thanks for the replies fellow Aussies, I'm glad you like seeing a mini review i suppose :-)
As I said, I am just really happy to have them as my main resource, better than face to face in a store even! and -Loki- you should be more than tempted to buy that Trygon! the more we can support locals then the better they can look after us, the customers i have talked to have all been impressed and they've been buying from them since they started! I'm planning to buy more next week for my blog so I'm guessing it will all go just as smoothly :-)
Thanks Combat Combat! you guys just keep on doing what you do so well!

I was planning a big order for my Tyranids early next year to fill out some stuff I want (namely a pair of Trygons and a pair of Carnifexes) from Dicebucket. Comparing prices to CombatCompany, CombatCompany is about $50au more.
I might go with them simply to support local stores. I'll see when I place my order.

Hmmm Loki, I can see your point there, but like you said, supporting our guys is always good :-) maybe if you don't get the big nids you can use combat company for other stuff during your hobby years :-) I found some decent brushes and things and always point family to them for gift ideas! I'm looking forward to christmas.... lol

I'm focussing more on buying the non-GW gaming stuff, where the price markups aren't anywhere near as extreme, so the need to shop offshore is not as strong (My GW armies are done and I don't need to add anything to them).
For those, the locals do me fine.

I'll likely wind up using combat company for my Tyranids so I don't have to put up with 2-3 week deliveries.

Definately +1 to these guys.
Russell is super quick to reply back to queries and I usually put in an order over $100 to get free shipping with a mate to save even more. The difference between maelstrom and combat company is but a few dollars but saves weeks of getting stuff in.

They're based in Sydney. The Hurstville area, AFAIK. South-eastern part, about 20-25 minutes out of the CBD. All my deliveries from them have come through that area's mail centre anyway. Next day delivery to Newcastle (and having worked in logistics, and how the depot to depot transport system works, that's good).

My friends and I also use Combat Company, and we all approve highly of them. If we order in the morning most of the time our order arrives the next day. Communication is excellent as well.

They are really good, a mate of mine uses them constantly.
If I'm just doing a smaller order, I use them without a doubt. However, for larger orders that I don't mind waiting for, Bitz Barn is just so much cheaper...

I'm actually thinking of using them for my Tyranids and writing off the extra cost over dicebucket as 'express delivery'.
Waiting on a Forgeworld order reminded me how much I hate shipping times.

I ordered from Dicebucket once - no complaints, but had to wait two or three weeks for the stuff to arrive.
If you want stuff ASAP and don't mind forking out that bit of extra cash, then yeah, Combat Company's definitely the way to go, IMO.

Hmm, I can't remember precisely, but I think it depends on how much you order and whether you want it registered or not. Also, if you order over $100 of stuff, shipping in Australia is free and registered.
They give you a shipping estimate in your cart, but if you think it's too much, I believe you can email them and discuss the shipping price too. Not entirely sure on that, I haven't had to do that myself, but I think that's what I've heard around the place. My memory's not great, aheh.

I'll check them out for NON-GW items and perhaps some books. I'd like to support locals, but if it's going to be more expensive than supporting the source I have issues.
fake edit - after checking their prices on Warlord minis, Vallejo paints and MIG pigments, I'm not hopeful.
AU$20 more plus shipping for a box of non-GW (Warlord Games) plastics? Ouch! ($50 + post vs $30 + freepost)
