I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for bits that could give my Daemon Prince a spear that's a good size for him.

I imagine something like the Forge World Eldar Avatar Spear would do the trick, but that's a lot of money for a stick of plastic.

I'd like to avoid plasticard, because my skills are limited.

Thanks.

Edit: Actually, plasticard seems like it'd be pretty easy. Place a sword on top of a tube of plastic? Has anyone done this?

A better option might be to use a sword on brass rod instead, as it's a lot less likely to snap. I'd greenstuff a simple coil around the join to help keep it on, too.

Any ideas for a good resource for such a rod?

Model/railway stores sell brass rod in varying lengths and diameter

Model stores also sell plastic rod, which I find easier to work with than brass.

I think you'll be able to make a shaft easy enough - the question is more what to use as the spearhead. As this is Chaos, pretty much anything sharp/spikey should be good. If you can't find one bit big enough, consider using multiple swords/knives glued together, i.e. the DP has magically fused together the weapons of his fallen opponents.
