Hi guys. I currently have a space marine army which I was going to use as dark angels because they have many benefits such as death wing assault and such. At the early stages of assembling my army I noticed that some troops were not covered in my dark angels codex and also scouts were under elites and not under troops. So I brought a space marine codex to see what the differences were and I noticed that the same troops used up more points than in the other codex. My army is stil a work in progress and I do not want to use them until there all painted but all my terminators are painted as death wing and my normal marines are painted as dark angels but without the dark angels markings. I was just gonna scrap the whole dark angels idea and just have a normal space marine chapter painted in dark angels colours and a separate death wing chapter, but I really want to keep them together. Is it possible to keep them as dark angels with the dark angels special rules but use the space marine codex for the missing troops or is it just best to keep them as two separate army's? Thanks a lot.

You can only use one codex. There's nothing wrong with using the DA codex with DA painted marines, and there's nothing wrong with using the SM codex with DA painted marines - you just need to pick one and stick with it (for that game).

Ok thanks but if I use the sm codex in a game will the death wing terminators still be the same or will I just have to treat them as a normal terminator squad.?

normal terminator squad. If you pick a book then only use that book. SM OR DA not both.

My Armies: 8000 , 3000 , 8000 High Elf, 10000+ and goblin, 5000 Dwarf

Unfortunatly you can only use one codex. That is of course unless your opponent will let you if you explain what you are going to use from each one (though it is very unlikely anyone outside you your personal friends will let you do this).

In general I would pick the standard marine codex over the old DA codex. The DA have some cute tricks, but they aren't particularly great. Besides GK really nailed the whole "army of terminators", though you can squeeze more DA Termys into a list than GK. No matter which way you slice it, a terminator army is rather gimmicky, and given the general popularity of parking lot list I would say that most people have enough anti-armor to blast your doods into oblivion. My only win against marines with the current SoB codex was vs. 1750pts of Deathwing Terminators. And the new SoB codex is probably one of the weaker armies at the moment.
