I am interested to see how everyone is interpreting how the Necron Death ray works. The part I am not sure on is the following:

"Every unit under the line suffers a number of hits equal to the number of models in the unit underneath the line."

In my mind, this means that if I draw a line over any part of a 10 man unit of space marines, or even a 30 ork mob, then the entire unit takes a number of hits equal to the number of models in the squad. So, the space marines take 10 hits and the orks take 30. Since each is a unit, and each is under the line. Is this how everyone else in playing it?

This has already been discussed. Search function is your friend.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

This'll get fixed in the FAQ for sure, it's supposed to read closer to " Every unit under the line suffers a number of hits equal to the number of models in the unit that are underneath the line."

That is absolutely how it works....if you don't read the "underneath the line" part at the end.

They really should have put in "that are underneath..."

The sentence is being read as two parts, such as; "Every unit under the line suffers a number of hits equal to", "the number of models in the unit underneath the line." But that's not how it's supposed to be broken down.
It should be broken down as; "Every unit under the line", "Suffers a number of hits", "Equal to the number of", "models in the unit Underneath the line".
