So I have decided to get back into the swing of motivating myself to paint my guard. Since I acquired my two new babies (shadowsword boxes) I have been eager to start making my guard as glorious as my Deathkorp was (RIP 13th Deathkorp Regiment).

Here will be my, hopefully, ever expanding blog of my 13th Arcadian Infantry Regiment, which will actually start with the 429th Minervan Tank Legion and the 7th Minervan Superheavy Detachment.

Here I present my newly built super heavies. Don't mind the troop compartments with stubbers, those are there so I can make these count as anything I need them to.

Iron Maiden (aka my count as Iron Saint from the White Dwarf article)

Mors Regis, Stormsword Super Heavy Tank

Hauptmann Mikel Wittmann (aka Pask) and his Vanquisher Battle Tank "Raging Bitch"

Puma Scout Vehicle aka custom built count as Salamander Command Vehicle. Base coat, needs paint.

My Colossus/Medusa Mobile Artillery. This one needs some detail work and wash with weathering.

My Commissariat Corps - One to be painted (center) two more are still being built.

Colonel-Commissar Aleksi Suvorov (count as Yarrick, also the first GW model I ever painted... ever)

Commissar Ebn Rusta

Commissar Chester "Ol' One Eye" Fuller

Commissar Oskar Hauser

Officially designated the Savior of Kassel, it is known as "Stompa Rompa" to its crew. Originally a Redeemer-Pattern Landraider belonging to an unknown chapter, the Adeptus Mechanicus reclaimed it during the Siege of Minerva. Against the will of the Magos, but under orders of Inquisitor Diego Astorga, the landraider was fitted with a Vulcan-pattern megabolter. In addition it was outfitted with lascannons and various point-defense weapons. In its maiden test run it was put into action against the Ork Horde at the Kassel Hive. There an Ork Stompa managed to chew through an unnamed Shadowsword, a Macharius battle tank, and damaged the Arrogant Bastard (Colonel-Commissar Aleksi Suvorov's personal tank). In a lucky, once in a life time shot from a single lascannon, the tank managed to puncture the reactor deep in the Stompa's superstructure. The explosion that ensued engulfed most of the Ork horde, as well as vaporized the Ork Warboss leading the Waaagh. The remaining Orks retreated and the Hive was saved. (Its maiden game it actually wtfpwnexploded my opponent's Stompa and caused it to kill a third of his forces.)

I need to finish painting it. But here is the basic color scheme.

One of my stand ins for Straken when I have to play against loyalist, particularly when I play my Dark Angel friend. I present to you the elusive Cypher.

Because we’re here,lad...

The tanks are awesome, a really good mix of ideas. Are those Abrams turrets?

I'm liking the extended turrets and the extra armour. The Cypher/Straken idea makes a lot of sense as well. I miss Cypher they should definitely put him back into the game.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

lol, that just shows you how ridiculously small russes are. You put a proper size turret on them, and the turret is practically bigger than the rest of the tank.

Finally decided to stick with one color scheme on my guard. Will be repainting the vehicles and HQs accordingly.

Veteran

Basically the fatigues remain the same khaki color, drybrushed with bleached bone then a light dry brush with skull white. The armor is Astronomicon Grey washed in Badab Black, a white wash, and then dry brushed white. Washed all the khaki areas with Gyphonne Sepia.

I like the colour scheme, and the way you've realized your armour. A few criticisms if you don't mind:

Does the 'Puma' have Wall-E stuck on top of it?
You have a lot of barrels to drill out
The handwriting on the tanks does not do the paintjobs justice - in the grim dark future of the 41st millenium we write like eight-year-olds?
Your mega tank is a bit of a hotchpotch - the lascannons look like they were stuck on as an afterthought (moar dakka?) rather than being 'part' of the whole. Also the twin linked bolter turret below the mega-bolter whassname looks a bit silly there now, if it fired up and to the side it would get shot to pieces - maybe replace it with a targeting array?
