My friends are starting a black crusade and I'm torn between whether or not my second army should be one to join it in the form of IW, or fight it with the full might of the Imperial Inquisition (coteaz henchmen spam). I play DE ATM and want something radically different from that. Those two are my preferred selections, but I'm open to any solution you one up with

I say go with the Iron Warriors. They have great fluff. While some would say the paint scheme is easy I find that the colors are easy but making it look good is extremely hard. But they happen to be the army im working on atm so I may be a bit Biased lol.

I'm leaning a bit towards IW, but I saw a Nid army that looked really nice, so I'm gonna throw them into the equation.

Coteaz is definitely a more "competitive" army, so if you want something to play in a major tournament, go with that. But, ultimately, you should go with whatever army you enjoy more.

I play a Black Legion Chaos Horde, always wanted to do Word Bearers. IW are the most overused after BL so I'd recommend something fresher to impress da ladyz.

If i was to do a monotheistic Chaos army, Should I use Nurgle, Slaneesh, or Khorne? Not Tzeentch tho, I'm allergic to birds

The most competitive is Nurgle-themed due to Plague Marines. I'd probably do that anyway even if they weren't the best for gameplay.

Buy some FW Death Guard conversion sets for your Marines/Termies, some Plaguebearers (they basically come fully assembled as it is), Typhus, a Nurgle Daemon Prince, and some green rusty vehicles.

Well in that case a single-god Daemon army would be very hard to pull off as the units are meant to compliment each other (Khorne Daemons are good at CC, Tzeentch ones at shooting, etc.)

As part of my Chaos Horde I have a large Daemon contingent but it's mixed. x1 Bloodthirster, x1 Daemon Prince with mark of Tzeentch, x20 Bloodletters, x3 Bloodcrushers, x5 Plaguebearers, x1 Epideminus, x1 Fiend of Slaanesh, x5 Seekers of Slaanesh, x10 Daemonettes, x10 Horrors, x5 Screamers of Tzeentch, x3 Flamers, x1 Herald of Tzeentch. Working on getting a Soul Grinder eventually as well.

A decent kit to start with would be the Chaos Daemon Battleforce. 20 Bloodletters, 10 Daemonettes, 10 Horrors, and 5 Seekers. Then get a Greater Daemon or Daemon Prince for HQ. Fiarly balanced as far as Daemons go, though the army itself has a lot of competition problems and like all Chaos stuff is bottom-tier. Personally though I'm not very competitive and find them fun to model/paint/use, which is why I got almost 6,000pts of Chaos stuff (including FW Renegades).

Yeah, these guys wouldn't be used competetively, mainly just prepping for a huge Chaos vs Inquisition game in a while

Are you allowed to use the IA books? If so you could do Word Bearers or Iron Warriors with hordes of cultists...
