Was just curious: are Belial with all-termies and Sammael with all-bikers armies at games of 1-1,75k points are competitive enough?

Deathwing is very competitive, while Ravenwing isn't as much.

Deathwing the answer is just yes.

Ravenwing is hard. If you play it perfectly, with awesome tactical moves all over then yes it can beat anyone. It just relies on not being caught and dictating play: always possible just really tricky to pull off.

I would play all bike ravenwing at this cost, maybe even leaving the typhoons behind.

Are they footslogging, going in land raiders, deepstriking or going in drop pods?

Lots of Terminators on foot, typically with lots of TH/SS and Cyclone launchers in every unit. Some people field pure TH/SS units with Cyclone launchers, but I think that it can be more effective to have one or two units equipped largely with standard storm bolters in order to provide ranged support, especially when holding rear objectives.

One kitted squad of termies with Land Raider will cost you ~500 points, deepstriking and with drop pods the can deep strike half of army in turn one and shoot from their weapons, as termies are relentless - there some bikes as having teleporter homers could be useful, footslogging is for something defensive strategy, so any tanks would be rather welcomed.

Hate to bother, but Deathwing cannot take drop pods. They may only deploy as normal (on foot or in Land Raiders) or via Deathwing Assault.

My bad, that was long time since I read their codex last. In this case I'd advice you to take 1-2 Ravenwing assault squadrons, 'cause you DON'T want your termies to die due to mishap.

Most of the time you dont really want to deep strike them at all...

@tedurur: No deep strike or Deathwing assault? How are you going to get into combat fast enough?

With 14 MLs, 3MMs, 3 demolisher cannons and 2 assault cannons I'm not often in a rush tog get into CC.

That doesn't look like a full DW/RW 2000 pts list which is what the OP was asking. But then what do I know :(
