Didn't see this addressed in the big Necron thread.

Can you sweep attack a unit that is locked in close combat? By the wording of the rule, I don't see why not.

It's not a shooting attack, so I don't see anything wrong with it. Perhaps someone else can clarify.

I've been playing as though you can, and have yet to hear anyone raise objections. (However, the lack of objections may be mostly due to Anrakyr the Traveller missing somewhere around 85% of the time. The universe just does not want my HQ to ever serve its intended purpose.)

Yes you can. It is not a shooting attack, and the Sweep rule does not state you can only hit an unengaged unit.
