So, at a Black Friday sale at my local, I picked up the two player starter set I have been eyeing for a while. It's a great value (and I'm convinced the dice that came with it roll aboev average, adn will brook no disagreement!), but... some of the longer pieces, like Sorcha's polearm and some of the Cinerator swords and so on.
So, anyone have some experience with this, and more importantly, how you fix such a problem? I've heard hot water can work, or hot salt, boiling water... I'm curious what people have tried and what has worked for them.
Many thanks!

Hot water from your tap is all you need. Hold the model under the hot water for a few minutes to soften it up. After that slowly bend it to the shape you want it to be. Then run it under cold water or have a bowl of water with ice in it ready (Don't know if that last part actually sets the model, but it doesn't hurt).

I haven't tried the hot water method though I will next time. I've been using a hair dryer to warm up the bent pieces and then letting them rest covered in cold water (but not ice cold). That's worked for me.

I have used the water heater and close to boiling water. Just dip the part of the model you need to straighten into water. It will go soft really fast, fix the bent up part and leave it to cool off.

hot water works perfectly. i had the same problem with my battlebox. all the swords of cinerators and axes of the menowar ^^ were not straight.
just let the hot wate flow over the bended are for about 20-30sec and then straighten it out.

I had the same problem with the 2 player box set, Sorcha, Kreoss, and Cinerators all had bent weapons. Heated some water in the microwave (not to boiling) then dip them in, most pieces straightened on their own once they hit the water (almost like there was a memory). A couple took some manual manipulation. Then hold til they cool (about 10 seconds). Good luck.

My brother got a boxed set for Christmas and the cinerator swords were all curved. I tried the hot water trick and it didn't work for me because I just let the water get to "pretty warm" and tried to dunk the swords. My brother left the hot water running and got the water to hot and the swords straightened out with no problem.
So the key is hot, not just warm.

True story about the hot water. I always gauge it by following the rule that if its too hot for my finger to be under the tap for more than a half second, then I probably have it at the right temp. This works great for plastic and metal (the latter of which I can attest to due to a recent run-in with a Buccaneer with a horribly warped leg).

I have a small halogen lamp on my painting table and when I was assembling my 2p battle box, I used the hot water on my Khador with no problem, but on the Menoth, I just held the offending piece close to the lamp, not quite touching the glass protector of the bulb and they were ready to fix in about 10-15 seconds. Plus you didn't need to wait for them to dry off to do anything else construction wise.

I had to bend back my Cinerators swords too, I wonder if every box has them curved this badly.

Thin plastic and metal parts bend. That's the reality of hobby, just like heavy metal figures need to be pinned to be sturdy.

I've gotten plenty of GW and PP plastic swords that have been straight, I wonder why every single Cinnerator set is bent.

Cinerator swords are very thin...impressively so. they are the first actual mini-swords that I think looks like they could cut something
the trade-off though is that its suceptible to warping
