Hi all

I've been wanting to bring back my old genestealer list but found out it doesnt work like it use to. So based on what i've been reading, here is a list i think might fit the bill.

HQ - Swarmlord

x3 Hive guard

E - 10 Ymgarl GS

Troops - 4 genestealer squads of 10 2 with broodlord w IPA

Hvy - 2 trygons

Hvy - 1 tyrannofex w RC

thats about 2k total. just wondering if this is a viable enough list.

your advice and cretinism greatly appreciated.

Swarmlord needs a tyrant guard if he's ever to get into CC. Trygons wrok better with AG. One brood of hive guard is not really enough at 2k to crack all those tranports. I would run at least 2*2 hive guard.

Personally I'd lose the Tfex and then you can afford the above as well as toxin sacs on the stealers and possibly and increase in brood size to 12.

E - 2 squads of 2 Hiveguard ea

E - 8 Ymgarl GS

Troop - 4 squads of GS 2 with 11 and 2 with 11 and broodlords

So you only have Swarmlord and Hivegaurd on the board at the start? Against any decent line army, it'll be gone in seconds :/

You can start with at least one brood of stealers on the table as well as both trygons. Stealers give the hive guard a cover save, which give the swarmlord a coversave, which give trygons a cover save.

Thats about what I had in mind.

I would drop the Broodlords for more stealers.

I would but from what I read its always good to have at least 2 to 3 broodlords in your squads. besides that hypnotic gaze is pretty awesome.

I'm sorry I worded that wrong. Yes you can only have one brood lord in each squad. I forgot about the pyrovores. I may have to re-think my list

You'd rather maybe take one model out of the fight (Hypnotic Gaze) than add 3 extra genestealers worth of attacks?

It's extremely useful in some cases, sure. In most cases you're better off with more attacks.
