Tried searching but was way too bogged down with results to find an answer to these.

First, a question about timing. If both you and your oppenet have special rules/effects that occur at the same time, which goes off first. For example, the big question about Mephistion vs Mindshackle Scarabs. If Mehpistion wants to cast Sanguine Sword, and the Necrons are activiating Scarabs, does the BA player get to see if he's affected by the Scarabs before casting the sword? Does he cast first? Or do you simply declare if you are or aren't, and the work them out accordingly. A BA friend of mine assaulted me, and wanted to use Sanguine Sword to up his STR to 10, but wanted to check for Scarabs before making his roll, he didn't want to hit himself with STR 10. We played it out that he had to delcare if he was or not before rolling. The same question would relate to things like GK casting Hammerhand, etc.

Secondly, I just want some clarification on the LD test for scarabs. Is this test resolved at the affected model's LD, or can a model use the highest LD in the unit? A good example would be a unit of Blood Claws with Lukas, lead by a Wolf Guard Pack Leader (not an IC, but counts as just another member of the squad for all intents and pourposes). Lukas is the target of the Scarabs. Does Lukas use his LD of 8, or the WGPL's LD of 9? Not a big difference I know, but could make or break the assault. We played it as using Lukas' LD of 8, because the BRB only ever mentioned using the highest LD, or LD of a IC, etc when it's the "unit" taking a test, not the individual model.

Just curious if we were playing right or not. Thanks in advanced for the help.

They happen at the same time, so the BA player has to choose to take the psychic test before knowing if he is affected by the shackles. Same for everything else.

It is that models leadership, as they are taking the test not the unit.
