Okay so this is a question I have after reading the Necron Codex. How do you get a KP from a Royal Court member? Are they even worth KP's?

For instance: Do I get a KP if I kill the whole Royal Court? Do I get a KP for each individual court member? Or do I get a KP for destroying the unit the Court Member is in only?

Since their not Independent Characters like Sanguinary Priests, how does this work?

You get KPs from killing units.

If they stick a a court, the whole court is one kill point

If some split off, then the remainder are a single unit still and are still a killpoint, however the ones attached to the units are not - they are a member of that unit, so just make that unit hard er to kill

Okay so I'm trying to understand what you said Nos...sorry it's early in the morning for me.

So if the Royal Court remains a unit attached to themselves or the Overlord and I kill the whole court then I get a KP, but if they split off to join other units then they act like Veteran Seargents and I don't get a KP even if wound allocation would cause the Court member to die...correct?

Correct - because if they are split off into that unit, they are a part of that unit and not the Court anymore. Just like Wolf Guard.

If the court remains as it is, i.e. 5 lords and 5 crypteks, then the whole unit is a Kill point, same as any other

If they split off then the single member of the court in the unit is essentially an upgrade character, so as you say, no kill point

You get kill points for killing *units* - think of them like Wolf Guard and you wont go far wrong.

Thanks Nos and Rigeld2, I haven't played Space Wolves or against many Space Wolf players, even in GT's (thank god), so I wasn't sure how the Wolf Guard work but I think I got it now.

Ok, so if the unit with attached RC member gets wiped but the RC gets back up due to Everliving, does he then count as a KP?

No, nothing counts as a kill point if it returned via RP, it only counts when it is permanently removed from the game.

Because you count KP at the end of the game. A lot of people just count during the game to make it easier.

No, because the unit is still alive - he is a member of the unit for all intents and purposes. If you kill him, you gain 1Kp for everyone - him plus the unit he joined.

If he's dead at the end of the game - since that's when KP are counted. No matter how many times he gets back up, it's only one KP. The ICs with EL as well.

does the lord/cryptek adopt the benefits as the unit they're attached to? ie. a lord is attached to troops and the troops are wiped out, does the lord that gets up count as a scoring unit?

It will probably be FAQed to yes - as Wolf Guard (who join squads exactly the same way) do.
