Which GW published codex would be the best choice for an angry marines army. My first thought was just run CSM and a bunch of Khorne Berzerkers, but those ***HOLES ARE NOT ****ING ANGRY ENOUGH, CAN"T STAND THIS ****ING HERETICAL BULL****. So which loyalist codex is the better fit?

I would go with the wolves. They are both angry and crazy. Coming from a military family background the wolves exemplify what real marines are like. First in, last out, fighting all out and afterwards partying just as hard. I always picture my wolves post glorious combat swilling fenrisian ale with bloody chunks of ork still clinging to their beards. Also with mark if the wulfen, is there a more violent display of savagery in the game then a marine completely losing his mind to battlelust and rending is enemy to a bloody puddle of Goo with his bare hands?

Blood Angels obviously. Angry marines want to assault, they don't do that boring shooting stuff! If you're doing World Eater Angry Marines then just ignore the Psyker stuff though.

I think the utter manliness of so many wolf models would work well here.

Well Blood Angels get furious charge and feel no pain which shows how the marines are PRETTY F***ING ANGRYYY.
Black templars get large groups of infantry running towards the enemy to punch them in the face with furious charge and the righteous zeal movement, which, as AlmightyWalrus said, shows how ANGRY they are.
Well and Space wolves are testosterone overdosing wolf men who like to tear stuff apart in close combat and ride on ANGRY wolves.
I think all of them would be ok but I prefer the BT for Angry Marines since they just love the emperor so much it just makes them SO F***ING ANGRY!!!!!

I think that any of the three could represent the meme well enough, but space wolves would allow for the most fun, with all sorts of conversions for their mounts.

I don't know.. anger seems a pretty common trait in all of 40k.. I mean a comissar shoots people who fail them.. BA has rage espeacially DC.. BT always say stuff like abhor the witch, litany of hate etc.. SW have blood claws, wulfen etc.. To me it seems you can't go wrong with any of them.

Go with Blood Angels. We actually have an Angry Marine player at our FLGS, and it's the codex he uses. Seriously, they have an army-wide ability where they randomly fly into an incoherent rage - what more could you want?

Blood Angels and, if you truly want to nail it, all Death Company.




Space Wolves unforunatly have a book pigeonholing them with Long Fang/Razorspam gunlines, wound allocation abuse and badly-worded psy-schikanics. It's a travesty of a list/book blatantly geared towards rule-abusers and WAAC-spam armies that is utterly unworthy of both Space Wolves and for-fun projects like your Angry Marines.

Why all the hate? I think it's a funny meme, and I don't consider myself to be of compromised intellect. They're no more hyperbolicly angry than Ultramarines are overblown Mary-Sues.

I think I am going to go with BA. BT was very tempting, but I wanted a librarian (librarian Moarfistin), and furioso dreads make nearly perfect belligerent engines.

I wish you the best of luck in this. The guy at our FLGS is an amazing converter. He has a squad of assault terminators wielding thunder wrenches, a land raider with a guy punching his way out of it (the door is actually folded outward as if someone had tried to punch through it from within) and he's got one assault marine wielding a guardsman as a close combat weapon.

BA would be best. DC is pretty much on the dot. "I don't care if you're my best friend, I'm still going to remove your trachea with my teeth!"

How about Codex CSM and berzerker spam? Plus the dred in that codex is angrier than most.

Take an All Astorath and DC Army.

Just use Proxies or something, it's the Angry Marines.
