Okay so here is my 1750p Tau list.
Basicly 11 Battlesuits, 2 hammerheads, 1piranha, 1 devilfish, 6 pathfindes, 2 medium Kroot squads, and the required firewarrior squad.

When i choosed my Battlesuits i want them to be good at range, so I have two medium sized death rain squads and one big fireknife squad for plasma that will be needed. The Broadsides have extra firepower with the plasma rifles to deal with heavy units.
I will give the Transport to the fire warriors, but had to buy them with the pathfinders.

Shas'el with plasma rifle, Missile pod, targeting array and hard-wired multi-tracker.

Looks like a great list but you want all your crisis suits to be fireknives you have so much anti tank out there already but what the Tau really lacks is AP you need to take advantage of the Plasma with Rapid Fire to kill Space marines. Also I would suggest if you can find points either putting in another pathfinder team or getting a full squad of vespids for the AP I talked about earlier other than that this is a very competitive list for the tau.

It is as about as tight as you can get.

If you have any points, maybe Target Locks for the Railheads. BCs shoot guys while the RG pops tanks. Anything else is *really* nit-picky.

A challenge?

I do agree it is a fairly tight list...

...but...

I think you should reconsider your crisis suits a little bit. I really don't think that many missile pods are justified unless you are playing against necrons, orks, or eldar (Who all have either a plenitude of 4+ save models, or low AV vehicles)

Personally, I'm a big fan of bladestorms and firestorms.

Whichever they are, I'm not on the Reich ones, clearly.

Naw. Not really. We know that suit tweaks are sometimes a matter of taste, often tailoring to the enemy.

Although, two pairs of Deathrains is pretty good for dealing with Razorback-spam.

Now that I think of it, I cannot recall having fielded a BladeStorm (PR/BC). Maybe when the new 'dex is released.
