Subject: The best Ork 1000pts you can put on the table with no duplicate units.

Sneaky Kommando

On January 7th I'm hopefully going to take part in a tournament with a little bit of a twist, where you cannot take any duplicate unit. so I was wondering do you have any suggestions in what's the most competitive ork list that you can put on the tabletop.
The games themselves are
1000 points
5 games in 1 day
4' x 4' tables
46 Players max
NO DUPLICATE UNITS
Max one of each unit type, with the exception that armies with only one Troop option can duplicate it as long as each unit has unique upgrades. Things like land raiders count as being the same, so one godhammer or one redeemer or one crusader. Transports cannot be duplicated either. You can repeat wargear in a squad, but you can't then have it in any other squads. Only one vehicle per squadron and 1 slugga boyz or shoota boyz in your list
The force organisation chart also changes:
1 HQ - Compulsory
1 Elite - Optional
2 Troops - Compulsory
1 Fast - Optional
1 Heavy - Optional
If you fill that FO chart you can start on this one:
1 HQ
1 Elite
2 Troops
1 Fast
1 Heavy
And if you somehow fill that one you can take:
1 Elite
2 Troops
1 Fast
1 Heavy
It definitely makes me think so what about yourselves. Personally the list can go in either two ways centred around a battlewagon or nob bikers with a war boss on bike to back them up.
What's your suggestions on?

I played an 1111 Tourney last summer where we were only allowed 1 of each FOC. I took a Bike Boss and Nob Bikers for Troops, a Kannon, Lootas, and Deffkoptas. At 1000 points, Nob Bikers will wreck anyone's face.

Sounds like a fail of a tournament that really breaks the game balance (more than it already is). It really neuters many of the armies out there.
I'd take a pass and ignore BS crap tournaments like this. Personal opinion of course.

Yeah all those rules are very limiting. You can not have duplicate transports.
Not a fan for sure. It started to be interesting until I saw all the limitations with squads and there transports too. Come on really?
But if I had to build a list this is what I would do.
Mek: KFF
Lootas x15
Dread: 2x CCW, AP
Shootas x25
-Nob: PK, BP
Koptas x5: Rokkits
Kans x3: Rokkits
1k

Hahaha, I just realized in this tournament IG can't even field platoons (has to field two infantry squads)! So the troops they have are one veteran squad and one penal legion squad.
Tyranids depend on multiple units of guants and hiveguard/zoans.
Orks can at least get nobz as troops and a huge mob of boyz.......but honestly they need multiple mobs.
Tau need multiple crisis suits.
I'm not even going to go on. This isn't warmachine or hordes where gak like that works. What a joke of a ruleset. Calling this a 'tournament' is an attrocity.
There is a difference between having people make hard tactical/strategic choice during list building and forcing people to take crap armies that are no fun to play.

I agree but the platoon is one choice so I would say it legal. Thats just me. I am curious who decided to do this. Does he even know how 40k is played?
Good thing necrons have a new codex. They wouldn't be able to play as they only had one troop choice. What about sisters? Do they have multiple troop choice? What about C A, they only have tac marines for troos, there scouts are elites. Yes you could add belial and make terminators troops. That really isn't the greatest. Neat idea just need to be streamlined a bit. I am all for making things interesting but really?

One question....what about the same unit in multiple FOC (Tervigons, Nobz)?
Also to the OP. You're list is illegal by the rules you posted as you can't duplicate wargear in different units.
Your Warboss has a PK, Cybork Body, and Warbike so none of the Nobz may have a PK, Cybork Body, or Warbike.
And agreed. Lootas over Kommandos.

Guys, whether the rules are dumb or not, he still wants advice on his list, because even if it's dumb, he's still playing it.
The only big change you NEED to make, is as aidobmac said; replacing your kommandos with Lootas, You will do /way/ better with them.
You spent like what, 185 points on that unit? OK lets see.
Get one squad of 12 Lootas and you have 5 points to spend on whatever.
Just my 2 cents.
Good luck.

The problem is the rules don't make sense. It says you can not repeat wargear. How can you do that? All the models in the squads repeat wargear. Slugga/Choppas are everywhere for Orks. Not being able to take multiple transports. I don't get it.
Yes you are right we should help but if we don't undestand how do we help. Not to mention he has not commented on this himself.
And Lootas would be a better choice for sure then Kommandos.

I like this little ruleset thing, yes it may not be the best way to play, but it creates a new gameplay where you have to abide by these rules.
go lootas
also idk how much anti-tank ull be facing so you could go all mekedout with some troop dreds and killer kans as well with lots of
