Ok so I am playing a game tomorrow aginst an "Iron warriors" army. Lots of heavy weapons. 55 marines 3 Dreads.

I plan on using a BW list. My only problem is I don't know what is better?

Meganobs x5: 3x K-Skorchas

-or

Nobs x5: CBB's
-Painboy
-Pk
-PK, BP
-Banner
-Regular

both would have.

BW: Rolla, Kannon, Bshoota, Armor, Plank

I want to run 2 squads of them, but not sure which one would be the best. I am leaning towards the Meganobs as they are just awesome.

Well, the Meganobz are slower, but that's negated by the Battlewagon.
But if the BW dies, they have to footslog all the way to the enemy, so they're pretty much out for most of the game.

I'd go with the Nobz, I've found them more reliable.

But if you think your BW's will def's make it to the enemy (if your opponent has a lack of stuff like Lascannons, which have longer range), it becomes a harder choice.

Wound allocation is much easier on the Nobz, so they may live longer that the Meganobz would.

Just some points to help you decide.

DQ:90-S++G++M++++B++I-Pw40K10++D++A++/aWD-R++++TDM+

Boyz 1500pts 7/0/1 The Weeping 2000pts 15/1/0 Necrons 2000pts 3/1/0

EVERYTHING NEEDS MORE DWARF!

Yeah and those are the points that make it tough to decide. I think the Meganobs have more killing power.

And he only has 12 Missles launchers, 3 plamsa cannons and a few meltaguns and plasmaguns.

So I do feel pretty safe with my BW getting up there.

The Meganobz are so cool and I have always wanted to use them, and there is no argument that having a bunch of Nobz with Power Klaws, 2 Wounds and a 2+ armor save isn't dead killy...but you're running a pretty big risk if the BW is stopped in any way.

Slogging those guys with their slow and purposeful rule is going to suck, even if you get stopped relatively close to your opponent. They are more than likely going to shoot you up and deny you the charge.

Do you have KFF for the BW? If not, I think your opponent will have little trouble taking down your BWs. 12 Missile Launchers, 3 Plasma Cannons and some meltas is more than enough for Space Marines to destroy or at least stop your Battlewagons. They aint Orks, those guns hit on a 3+!

Balsak,
I know you are a far more experience player than I am, but I was getting completely owned by Havoc MLs from Iron Warriors this week. It was mostly my horrible dice and poor tactical choices. Nevertheless, I wouldn't discount the ranged attacks from CSM. But since he's CCB'd army, I'd go with longevity up close only. Not sure, but I don't think you'll be hitting first, even on the charge, so you may have to absorb hits regardless. So the FNP will be crucial. IMHO. I vote Nobs w one more PK if points allow esp since you can't have 2 banners in list. Right?

Yes I am running KFF's. 2 in fact. I don't really see a problem with CC. He really doesn't have any PW's. I am used to meganobs being on foot as I use them in my kan wall. They can run and honestly if they do become a fire magnet that fine too. He only has missles long range so I am still getting my 2+ saves.

It is a hard decision for sure. But I like the meganobs better I think.

Thanks guys. Will tell you how it goes.

So I played my game tonight. Went pretty well for me. He did kill my one BW with a melta and blow it up failing my KFF save. The Meganobs got pinned of course. In the long run it helped. My other squad got up to his line and walked through a dread and 3 squads of havocs with 2 Nobs left.

He made some bad choices with moving an deploying so I used it to my advantage fo course. Its was a VP game and I had 10 to his 4 so pretty decisive victory. I think the out come would have about the same with the regular nobs, but I don't know if I would have faired better againts those havocs of his. Missles would have hurt bad.

Thanks again for the input guys.
