Hey guys!

So I'm collecting a vanilla Space Marine army now, and i didn't want to use any of the existing chapters. So I decided I'd make my own chapter. Now my lore knowledge is really bad so I can't come up with a name, let alone a backstory. My colors are black and scab red. much like Chaos Marines. and I had the idea that my chapter was in the transformation of stepping over to chaos. but is that even possible? lol

Any cool ideas would me much appreciated!

So you're saying your chapter isn't Chaos, but it's almost Chaos?

No problem. I find the best way to think of fluff is to read your armies codex, but for you, you might also want to read the Chaos codex, also reading the Horus Heresy books should help you get ideas for what you want your army to be about.

At the end of the Heresy, the Crimson Reapers were stranded on board of their ship floating close to the eye of chaos. The tight quarters and overfull compartments by these emperors champions as well as low rations created some anxiety amongst the general troops. With the corruption of chaos so close, it was allowed to enter into their dreams, changing their views on the emperors service. After a month of floating in space, an inquistion vessel rescued them. With sisters on board as body guards for the inquisitor they were loaded on board. However the inquistor felt the presence of chaos, weak but there, he promised them safe passage back to their home world. On the way there.......

This is just a sample of what you can create for your army. I hope this helps get you started on your chapter.
